Love hearing the stories! Sometimes I say that I have a quilted brain!

I once told a non quilting friend, "I need a fat quarter." She replied, " I have lots of change. "

Tell your fiance to stop messing up his jeans any more than they already are because you have a denim quilt in your head and if he rips his jeans anymore, you're going to lose fabric.

When the best answer to most of the conversations others ask leads to, "I am a quilter" is appropriate. Want to go to the movies? No, I am quilter and have to finish a quilt I am working on. Have you found a gift yet for her birthday? No, I am making a quilt she will love. What have you been doing lately? Working on a quilt top for so and so. Obsession is the word I would use. Fabric, thread and patterns are my favorite purchases.

When speaking to a friend (non-quilter yes they actually exist) and happened to say I was struggling with triangles and windowpaning, she thought it was some strange menage a trois relationship.

When you take a suitcase of quilting supplies on the airplane, and tell the assistant . to lose it, as it is very important
