I've had every brand mentioned, and the Alvin has been my favorite. Very long lasting.

green Olfa - large size -24 x 36. I don't always use the markings but like them when I need them. The size is perfect for yardage cutting!

Bought my Fiskars 24" x 36" mat while we were still living in Wisconsin. Left there in 2001. Still using the mat & it's 2013 & w moves later. I am a heavy quilter, so it has gotten lots of use. Price was the determining factor over Olfa. At the time, the Fiskars was half the price of Olfa. I'd say I've gotten more than my money's worth! I do have several other, smaller Olfa mats - right down to the 5" x 7" one!

Olfa- 24 x 36. this has lasted me for many years. I would dearly love to have a custom made one for my table (sigh) but the mere expense is prohibitive! 74 x 32...

Have a self healing rotating mat 14 x 14 I like using when squaring up blocks. Sometimes wish it was larger. Have a full size mat on my cutting table, not self healing and since using the rotating mat, will change over to that next year. Found a company that will cut to fit and send you the leftovers too. Can't beat that.

It's a blue Dritz mat 25 1/2 x 37. I notice some people have said they don't like Dritz - maybe I just don't know what I'm missing, but it works for me. I love the large size. What's better about the Olfa?

I have a question about Martelli. Love the cutter & was wondering if they have 2 sales per year or is this the only one?
Would love to get a cutting mat but need to be careful with $$ right now. Thanks

Martelli mats look great. I bought one of their work tables on a whim. Problem is I have no place to put it. I would like to sell it for a good discount. If you know of anyone that would be interested, just pm me and we can discuss.
