I'm still patiently waiting (like not!) for my blocks, but don't worry ladies, as soon as I get them I'll return all your kindness with feedback score. I feel bad that I haven't done that yet!

Anyone have any ideas and layouts on design walls to be shared? I'm thinking I'll do the same layout design that I did my Fall quilt in, so the two kind of match.

Judith, the Patriotic swap sounds great! I'll be sitting on the fence watching and cheering you all on. Unfortunately I can't take on another swap at the moment, but maybe next time.

Thank you Cuppy. I don't know if I can help you with your 2nd wish as I seem to wing it as I go along. With the exception of the pattern I found online. But, still, I had to change all the dimensions to make them work with the 12.5 inch blocks. Summertime II is going to be put together a lot like my Fall Quilt Swap Blocks. I haven't even started to contemplate all I need to do with that yet.

I have jumped in and started the Red/White/Blue Swap. And, I just couldn't miss out on the farm quilt swap blocks. You ladies are just doing such fun blocks! So, I am going to be busy busy busy!!!

I do thank you all for your support and kind words in my swaps. They really uplift my spirits.

Dang....you organized that new swap fast....I'm going to have to cheer everyone on, too. I won't be near a sewing machine for a month starting in 2 weeks and I am committed to getting my big project completed.

Hopefully I will have some pictures soon! And would love to see other's ideas. I looked at the quilts put together from last year and decided on white sashing with colorful little squares in the intersections (not sure if different colors or all the same). This past week I worked on making all the squares 12.5 inches. And today I picked out the two border fabrics. It's so hard trying to "calm" down the blocks and letting them shine at the same time. I loved loved Judith's block design for this quilt but am going more simple for sanity's sake on mine. Originally I was going with a smaller wall quilt but liked the blocks so much it has grown into a lap quilt! I'll probably post some pictures soon and get all your opinions on the intersection colors!

I too have been playing around with the Summertime II Swap Blocks. I always start on my "design floor". I move the blocks around until I like the placement and have like blocks set apart from each other. (I added blocks from the 2012 Summertime Block Swap and last year's Summertime I Block Swap. And, a couple of UFO blocks that have been sitting around for way too long.) Then, I try to figure out the direction for the filler blocks. That's why I photograph along the way in case something needs to be moved or changed. That little Sun Bonnet Sue in the bottom left corner, my mother made years ago. I have about 30 of them. Enough to make the Granddaughters quilts from them. In any event, I am glad I have one for mine. I'm going to have her flying a kite. Which will be worked in as I go along.

This is the tentative layout that I came up with. Although, I have had to put them on hold for the moment while I participate in a couple of swaps.

Since we had an overwhelming response in the affirmative, I am going to send these blocks out to the recipient I pm'd about a week ago on Monday. You are all so generous with loving and giving hearts. Here are the Plus 1 blocks.

If any of you are as in love with the strawberry as I was in the Plus 1 blocks, Irish Mom shared the link with me. http://skyberrieshandmade.blogspot.c...-tutorial.html I made mine in pink because I had a lot more pink scraps then red.

In Spring, March, there is a big Strawberry Festival in the town over from us. My daughter when she was much younger used to March in the Parade with her baton twirling group every year. So, I just had to add a Strawberry to my quilt. It is a fun and easy pattern to follow. But, you will have to border it to bring it to size. (Which Irish Mom did.) I haven't with mine yet.

It's important to share, that not all the blocks I received are in the picture. The Red/White/Blue ones I'm saving for my Patriotic quilt. And, a couple others will be shifted into different quilts as well. I wanted this one to look really "outdoorsy". More a Northern Summer look. Which growing up in my early years in NY State, my summers looked a lot in the direction this quilt is going in.
