Very nice block. Are you making the same block and calling it a set? I have 5 different blocks done. It is fun to look thru my stash and figure out what my next block will be.

Yes, I am. But, it's okay if you want make different blocks. Just in case we don't get a big turn out, We'll have the opportunity to receive different blocks. I'm thinking of doing the same just in case. Right now, I have 4 to a set, max 5 sets. 20 block max. If we have at least 5 different players the sets I have will work out.

Just please make sure you mark the blocks with your name so I can try not to send you any of your blocks back.

Judith what is a DP9? Some abbreviations stump me. I saw it was mentioned in the instructions for this swap.

Queenbarbiej, A DP9 is a Disappearing 9 Patch. Here's a link to a tutorial on how to make them.

Now I know what you mean. I never heard of it as DP9. Thanks for the info. I actually have a DP9 in mind for the RWB swap.

I’m thinking about joining this swap. I’ve wanted to make a patriotic sampler for some time now, do you just do this once a year?

Pam, I did hold a Patriotic/R/W/B Swap last year. So, I won't hold another swap like this one next year. I will be thinking of something else next year.

Ok then, I’d like to join. Do you need to know how many sets upfront or can we play that part by ear? I’d like to do 5 sets but am not sure I’ll be able to get them all done.

    Are embroidered blocks allowed?

When you put your name on the blocks is it permanent or just an attached note of some kind?

Hi Pam, I will add your name to the participant list. Welcome.

No, you don't have to commit to a certain number of sets right now. Just know that 20 blocks is the maximum you can send.

Yes, Embroidered blocks are allowed. They make a lovely addition to any quilt.

When I put my name on my blocks, I just use the small narrow post its that I pick up at the Dollar Store. You can pin them or sew them on with your machine. I usually sew all my with my machine at the end. Nothing fancy, Just a long straight stitch. So, nothing permanent. Some people use address labels. Just your board name on the label is sufficient.

This is my next block set. I have 2 done in each color. I don't know what the name of the block is. I saw it in a past swap here on the board and liked it. It makes simple squares look very graphic.

I like them too. I received one in swap in the last R/W/B Swap and put it in the quilt for my son-in-law. The block is in the quilt above. The second from the bottom, second from the right. They are simple blocks. But, they look great in a quilt.

And please move me to the "yes, I'm in!" category.

I'm working on my first block now. Each handle will be a different red fabric.

Oh, I'm so excited. Irish Mom, Excellent block. I love it! And, scrappy handles, excellent use of scraps. I like it.

And, thank you for providing me with a name for my block.

I will move you to the participant list.

Ok! I could make 4 teddy bears and 4 stars or I could make a teddy bear/star set and then another set of embroidered blocks that are all from the same designer, which would be better Judith? I was planning to do some pieced blocks too...

Those are Great Pam. I really appreciate the Embroidery blocks as I don't have an embroidery machine. So, if you want to do 3 sets of Embroidery blocks, that's fine with me. Or, if you want to switch to pieced blocks, that's okay too. So, really, do what you enjoy. Have fun with your blocks.
