I'm visiting my son in Ohio until the 22nd. I found the perfect pattern for my mini at the local quilt shop. Now I really have to hustle to get it done and send to Cheesehead before the end of the month. I am enjoying the weather here today. It's about 72 and perfect. SO much better then the hot 87 and humidity now in Florida. I wish I could stay here and not go back. Oh well, maybe one day.

Ohhh Karen, can't wait to see what you picked out! There is no rush for you to get it finished, we plan to leave Alabama for Wisconsin on April 28 arriving on April 29th. I too am looking forward to cooler weather, it's be rainy, warm and humid for over a week. The rain just doesn't want to end, I feel like I am living in a greenhouse!

The photo is of my son and daughter at 6&9 now 22&25 with our dog Jack @ 6 months. This is the dog we just had to put down I thought I'd honor him a bit for all of the great years he spent in our family!

Teresa that is such a precious picture. That makes a perfect tribute to the precious member of the family. Sweet pictures of your children then too.

Teresa, I'm so sorry you had to put you little dog to rest. I've had to do that several times and it's like losing part of your family. We get so close to them. I cried for days even at work. Most of the nurses were pet lovers too s they all understood. I feel bad for you.

Ok, I admit it. Ever since I saw Teresa's post about a hexie class, I've been obsessed!! I spent all evening on Saturday with my Accuquilt and hexie die cutting up fabric. I think I have enough cut shapes to go 'round the world! Then on Sunday I cut freezer paper shapes (also using my Accuquilt). The danger here is that one can crank out many MANY pieces with very little effort. Then I spend the rest of the afternoon fusing the freezer paper to the backs of the fabric hexies. Now is the fun part of basting all them babies down! After reviewing many different techniques on YouTube, I think I have settled one way - for the moment. I just ordered a set of nested acrylic templates for sizes 1" thru 8" from an Ebay seller. And of course with the paper shapes available on the web, I could conceivably crank out every size available. Too bad that AccuQuilt doesn't have more sizes available. I think I've created a monster (myself!). Help!!!
