I went to my lqs, as suggested, and got an excellent lesson on batiks, and they helped me pick out 5 of the best colors to go together. They were so helpful! Most of the fabrics that I got were not the same color or hue, so even if I try, all my blocks won't be identical, but isn't that the point that makes batiks so special?

Since I am a hand quilter, this may be the first quilt I will have professionally quilted long-arm style.
