Thank you everyone! I had an interesting birthday-I had to work a very long day! I will post photos tomorrow, as I have to work a double shift today!

I had my eye on those envelopes for a month-it was great to open them! Many thanks for all the hard work!

Hello everyone
I hope everyone is well and enjoying the long weekend. I have decided to start my first " Quilts of Valor" quilt today. My friend Pat (Pattyjo) and I have joined the QAV in Michigan and she has already made and donated her first quilt. I am a little behind so I thought today would be a great day to start!

That also brings me to our Mystery Quilt. I am going to make my mystery quilt in patriotic fabrics, So that I can make this my QAV.

So who ever want to start with the mystery quilt I will post a "to do project" for the week. Join in anytime. At first I will be giving directions for all sizes. When I start getting to the part you need to decide how big you want to make it I will let you all know. Please feel free to post pictures as you go.

I will start with a new post so we can all keep track of all the posts.

5/25....This week please make ( 7) 3 x 3 blocks with your 2.5" squares.
so the first picture is showing the back make sure you sandwich ll of your seams and iron each row opposite direction then when all 3 rows sewn together iron everything down. Do this for 7 blocks.

Next block I make I will probably add some or at least one solid square. A lot is going on there!
How much contrast do you anticipate is needed? or is completely scrappy going to work?

Completely scrappy is what the pattern has and it looks great! I just want to
make mine a "Quilts of Valor" or an americana type for me.

Barb

Have fun!

PM newbies if you want me to send my squares to you early. (like now)

Thank you all for the birthday wishes and the candies! I spent the day relaxing and enjoying my day with movies and sewing. I opened all of my envelopes and I can say that everyone is accounted for! Thank you to the ladies that send solid fabrics.... it helped me organize the candies into a rainbow. It was so much fun! And there were lots of iSpy candies too which I love!

Thank you all again!
