I was wandering around some sites and found this free pattern from Pat Sloan. She has the pattern in two ways, using a charm pack and then a second one using what she calls mini charms, 2.5s. It would make a nice small wall quilt or table topper. Just an idea for a quick way to use some of our little birthday swaps pieces.

Hello friends

Well November has NO birthdays for us to celebrate! So tell me what is everyone going to do with all this extra time you have?

How about a challenge? WMUTeach posted a "Mini Charming Christmas" pattern from Fat Quarter Shop.

Join me in making this adorable wallhanging/ pillow.

Make sure you post your finished project!

I keep mine in zip lock bags by color, novelty and Christmas. I then toss the ziplocks into a large bag the size of a gym bag. Sorting them initially is a pain in the rumpus but once done it is relatively easy to keep up with. Happy sorting by the pool in the shade!
How I wish I had you beat, all my scraps from around February are in two large grocery sacks. The critters are using them for pillows. So in my world, your ahead by a miles. If we have the room in the vehicle I'll be able to bring my scraps.

Thanks everyone.

Default Scraps

Figured it out! I’m taking my 2 bags of scraps on vacation with us so I can make them usable. Tada!

Perhaps next year I’ll meet my goal of cutting them down as I go. I trained with Eleanor Burns method. “And you just throw that away.” As she heaves a strip over her shoulder. 😀

Wendy, I toss away any scrap smaller than a 2.5. Over the shoulder and into my bag of scraps for dog beds I don't have the style of Eleanor Burns but I sure like cutting as I go. I lose track of how many 2.5's I have but really....who cares. I just keep using them with the goal of emptying my big old "31 bag: by my September birthday. Most years, I get close to it. It makes me happy to see all of the dear little gems being turned into warm snuggle quilts.

Has anyone ever made a Double Wedding Ring quilt using 2.5" charms for the rings? I think that would be such a fun quilt!
