WMUT so glad we had a great experience and it was peaceful.
I’m sure you all heard about the shootings here in Minnesota. Absolutely tragic, our speaker of the house and her husband were shot and killed after the suspect had already shot one of her fellow contingents and his wife. They are expected to live. The wife in this case threw herself over their adult daughter with disabilities protecting her. Unbelievable and so sad. They know who the killer is but last I heard they haven’t found him yet. One of our brilliant reporters said they believe the shooter was trying to leave the area.!
Not suppose to rain today till later afternoon. We might head to the lake to make sure nothing has floated away in all this rain

Yesterday was a beautiful day. I fully enjoyed the military parade for the Army's 250th birthday. Wow. So many trained and ready heroes, protecting our country. I think it's good that the rest of the world saw that too.
Terri, terrible that your elected officials were murdered in cold blood, and the other couple, shot. The media is constantly fomenting strife and hatred, so it doesn't surprise me that it sets these nutcases off every so often. I hope they find the killer soon.
Meanwhile I will sew a potato chip top, happy in my own little world. I'm glad I don't have to figure out all of the world's problems, most all of them boiling down to just hate and greed.

Today I am making use of some of my 2.5" squares. Frankly, I am bored with this project but it is doing a fine job of emptying out a box of these little darlings. I am on a mission to use 5,000 squares this year. One thousand used so far, that was one quilt my friends, and I have three quilts started that use predominately 2.5" squares. Plan to reach the goal by... December? Lord, protect me from my own insanity and ambitions.

Thank you from all of in Minnesota for the condolences. It is amazing how fast they can find out who the shooter is in instances like this. Hopefully he will be captured soon. They did just release the couple who was shot and survived he was shot 9 times and his wife was shot 8 times. A miracle they survived.
Actually was motivated today and made the block and quilted baby Mia’s quilt. It is going to be mighty close on having enough fabric to make the binding. I think on kids quilts it’s a good thing to machine sew the binding on both sides but I am unimpressed with my abilities to precisely sew that narrow line. Wondering if a different stitch would work better for me

Today we hit 100 with 4% humidity. June seems to be our hottest - at least I am praying it won’t last!
As for protesting- I recall four years ago we were not allowed to assemble so it is great that people can voice their opinion. I watched the DC 250th anniversary parade. 250 years of men and women fighting for the freedoms we have now.
DH chose to go to a local restaurant for Father’s Day. They have great Wagyu beef burgers in a family setting with board games for families to play. Anyway when bill arrived we were told that all fathers ate for free!! Wowser! I could help but leave a huge tip!
I was planning on sandwiching today but found a stain in my solid backing so sprayed and washed it again. May just appliqué something over since it did not come out. Tomorrow

Good morning! PT is done! Today was the hardest day yet but I completed everything so I feel good. Yay.
About 6 weeks until signups begin for the next Boom.
I'm going to try to finish sewing the binding on today by machine. It’s slow going on a smallish work surface but I’ll get there a few inches at a time.
Thrilled to hear they caught that shooting suspect. What a malicious deed.
Just had some “excitement” in the neighborhood. One of the neighbors hit and partially ran over a gigantic brick mailbox and all but totaled the car, or at least the front end of it. Happily, the driver wasn’t hurt but there are questions about how it could even have happened. My bet is on distracted driving.
Hoping you all have a good day.

Good day for me! Went to the quilt group in Shipshewanna, bought a back for a UFO, and found bargains at a bulk food store. Spent less than $20 and have restocked my pantry with foods that are acceptable for my eating plan and a couple of treats not on the plan.
Now off to pick up a grandchild from driver's ed course and home to work on my a quilting project. Yea!.
Weather is pretty near perfect but is projected to get hotter and more humid in the next few days. That is just the way it is when you are near so many lakes, streams, rivers and ponds. When you are in Michigan, you are no more than 6 miles from water according to the Department of Natural Resources. It is lovely but it sure can increase humidity. Wouldn't change it for a minute. We may whine but weather changes every few day and that is wonderful.
Time to pick up my grand-twin.

Janice congratulations on finishing therapy! Has your neighborhood settled back down?
Nasty storms with hail, wind and tornado warnings here yesterday. We sat out one storm in the garden center at Lowe’s, the noise was deafening but it was only rain. Later last night even worse storms hit all around us but we only had lots of thunder and ominous clouds.
Need to sew the binding on Mia’s quilt today, it is going to be very close on having enough fabric to make it all the way around. Fingers crossed.
Yeah only 6 weeks to go till sign ups.

Good morning. The mailbox incident was distracted driving, fiddling with a blue tooth device. The driver was very upset. Just so lucky no one was retrieving mail at the time of the accident.
I’m going to dig through the stash and pull out something that will work for the next Boom. Might repeat one of my first fabrics. I don’t know what I was thinking but I still have a couple of yards of it. I also have some pieces of batik that I loved in the store but not so much when I got home. Could use those because I know you all will make the best of it.
Today’s looking to be a quiet day. Sunny and warm so a walk is on the agenda.
Have a good day.
