Update on Canada Post strike - urban area post office workers were locked out last night! Went to post office today - mail boxes taped shut - plenty of picketers. I would advise that you not send out the Canadian stuff for a bit!! Hopefully the government will call a back to work order. In the meantime no bills......gotta love that! Just got to remember not to spend the bill money on fabric!!

Sew a scant 1/4" seam - guaranteed to usually add just he little bit you need. Borders to make it fit usually show up in a quilt when sewn together.

It is not be totally correct all the time but I become concerned when the cutting is 5/8 or 7/8 of an inch. I find going to 3/4 or to the next full inch avoids some of this. Anyone agree? It is a lot of work to put in to come up short and it is frustrating.

I read yours to my mom who lives with me and to my 21 year old daughter last night because I thought they were funny so perhaps we have the same warped sense of humor. I actually have a t shirt that says that from cafepress. they have LOTS of quilting shirts. I have another I bouGht there with a girl stick figure with a rotary cutter and it says serial quilter. Goodnight.

That's what I do and still sew a 'scant', just to be sure but then points can be off...very frustrating! So forgive me if my blocks aren't perfect...I am still learning....some are great, some have a few imperfections. I think when you do a whole quilt of repetitive blocks you figure the block out. But when trying new ones, there are surprises. Anyone else out there, feel my pain? D

I sometimes have issues too, even using a scant 1/4". The way I think of it, no one is perfect, and honestly if anyone has to add a border to any of my blocks, I'm perfectly cool with it. Just have fun. I learn something with every block I do. This is meant to be enjoyable.

Anyway - here is the gorgeous block I received yesterday from Navarre2011. :) It's awesome. Thank you!
