I agree dark for me! After all, chocolate is a vegetable! Chocolate comes from a coco bean, beans are legume, legumes are a vegetable...ergo...chocolate is a vegetable!

Hi girls! Since we are at a slow time of the swap, I thought maybe I would ask a question we could all talk about. What is your favorite ornaments on you tree, or perhaps an all time favorite from your past.

I once had some felt jumping posed white horses that I purchased on Fishermen's Wharf in California. They just came up missing one year and I have no idea what happened to them. But, I really enjoyed those little guys for many years.

Red, I told this story last year, but we may have some new swappers who haven't heard it. From the mid 60s thru early 80s, my Mom made beaded ornaments for our Christmas tree. She started out with kits from Lee Wards, then started buying packs of beads and trims and designing her own. They all started with a styrofoam shape and ended up encrusted in ribbon, sequins, and beads. She made enough to fill a 15' tree (you read that right). When she stopped putting up a big tree, the ornaments were divided between my brother and me. I still use them every year on my 7' tree. I start by hanging those, then fill in with the blown glass figural ornaments. It makes a lovely sight as the white lights reflect off all those colors!

Last year Linda aka Learner747 sent me this as her swap ornament, and it's now included on my tree along with Mom's.

Since I know that Jaba's in the swap this year, I won't show what she sent me in case it would spoil someone's surprise this year -- but it has also become a treasured part of my tree decorating tradition. If I can remember, I'll share it here after Opening Day.
