What a beautiful baby! I love looking at your photos, waiting for grandchildren I can hold too. Not holding my breath kids would like a few more years. At least they are wise enough to wait its one big job that never goes away.

My doll quilt from Elizabrat is awesome. She did not photograph it and I cannot either. It is in jewel tones like a stained glass window. It has a large cross and a candle ,small, at the lower right that is embellished. Wait till you see what I sent her ! Hugs

Quiltymom you new grandson is adorable!.
I envy ALL of you grandmas.
My oldest daughter (turned 32 yesterday) is single, but can't have
children. She has had numerous (over 7-9 I lost count) miscarries).
She has thought about adopting an older child but would prefer to
adopt siblings (she grew as an only child and always wanted siblings).
My middle daughter (age 23) lives in Virginia Beach with her her husband
who is in the Navy. Don't know if/when they might have kids.
The youngest daughter is a Junior in College and is double majoring
in Chemistry and Biology. She doesn't have a boyfriend, and doesn't
plan to get one, or get married and have kids until she is finished with
ALL of her schooling. This makes us VERY happy to know she is thinking
about her career and future first. She will be 21 in December.
At the rate things are looking though IF I ever do have grand kids it
might be with the youngest girl. Unless my daughter gets more sure
and serious about adoption.

This is the DQ I made for Debbie (mooretll).
I fused the right side of the fabric so that it looked like
the "inside" of the candle was melting down the sides.
The flame is made with 3 oval shaped yo-yos (go figure that
I would add yo-yos right?), all stitched together.
I wanted to give a little "sheen" (or shine however you want
to look at it) so I used my Floriani embroidery thread to stitch
around the edges of the applique. I liked that so much that I
decided to do my fmq using a variegated green thread.
