is there any thing special about being able to ship internationally? I would assume cost would be a little more and that is not a problem with me.

There's nothing special about shipping internationally. You package the same and the USPS ships by weight. First class international mail ships up to 3 lbs. After 3 lbs. the rates get pricey. Most of the quilts weigh less than a pound though. You can get an estimate of international postage costs at: http://ircalc.usps.gov/

For example, my January quilt weighs 6 oz. packaged. If I send it to California it will cost $2.07. If I send it to Italy or China it will cost $5.64. Not a huge difference.

ok great then count me in on international also. Just didnt want to have to give up my 1st born for it. Or have to go thru a strip search to get it in the air.

Chele,
Are there any special forms or anything for mailing internationally?

When you mail your package at the P.O., they give you a Customs Form to fill out. The guy at the counter always helps me with it. No biggie. :D

Don't forget on the customs forms...you need to have a low declared value, otherwise, recipients are taxed on their "gift". Especially Canada. I just write the value at $20.00 when I ship out of the country.

If you mail in a flat rate envelope (not a box), you don't have to fill out a customs form. And a DQ fits in one of the priority mail envelopes perfectly. It costs about $14.00, but to me it's worth it, 'cause I can track it, and if it gets lost, there is a tracking number.
