The art quilter I mentioned above, Ann Brauer, wrote back to me! What a sweetheart she is. I never in a million years thought I'd hear from her but ... surprise! I was so thrilled. I'm hoping that maybe in the summer I can visit her studio. That would be so much fun!

It would be so much fun to meet her...you both would have much to talk about having similar life experiences and a love of art and quilting....love the Quilting Arts magazine and sometimes I treat myself with the latest Art Quilt Studio...
the Strippy/Stripey is finished.....just a few more days for partners!

I just finished one except for the binding, but I think I am going to experiment with some others before deciding on which to give away. Having fun with FMQ on these, too!

I noticed this swap is listed as a 2012 February Doll Quilt Swap. But, it is the 2013 swap, right? I find it hard myself to realize we are already to the end of January 2013! How does that happen? LOL

Have a fleeting idea what I might do for my DQ this month.

Gotta love Australia - devastating floods AGAIN in the northern states, bushfires still raging in the southern states and here in Tassie, I have the FLU ! Why do I have the worst dose of flu that I have had for many many years Nd its the middle of summer. Lovely sunny weather beckons me outside and I am barely able to walk to the bathroom. . .

Sometimes things just don't seem fair, but I surely feel for you.....having the flu is awful...hope its duration is short.

I do not own any stripes so I went out and bought some. My DQ is all done...now to piece it together and quilt it. I really like it. Who knew stripes could be so artistic and pretty.

Don't worry Difergie. Some of us just get going earlier. the down side to that is that we can't wait for the next month to start. LOL.

Does anyone want a second partner? I did it again -- I gave someone herself. Mush brain time! At least I caught it before posting.
I have everyone paired up except for one and I'm sure she doesn't want to be stuck with me.

Lyn, I am so sorry about what's happening in your country right now. I saw the images on the news and was horrified at the flooding. At least ours went away pretty quickly. You guys just can't catch a break! Be safe.

UrGodsChild2 - you didn't have to use stripes! It could have been strips ... but I'm so happy you got to experiment with something new.

Di, you have no idea how hard it was not to be selfish and pick you as a partner for myself ... but I resisted. I just hope you stick around so I can get you another month.

Now ... for that second partner ... going once ... going twice ... *DING* ... poor thing is stuck with me and one of my crazy therapy quilts.

Hi Krystyna, I am going to wait til March or April to chime in. But, in the meantime, I will enjoy seeing all of the creative doll quilts.

We'll miss you, Linda. The little quilt you sent me was one that survived the flood. Actually almost all of them survived except for a couple that I had out to hang in a day or two. Do you still have "Just Look Away"?
