    February POM

    ~February~
    Project of the Month
    Sign up until February 1st
    Mail by February 28th

This months project a "Spring" pennant or banner

We will be making a Spring themed decorative pennant or banner. There are lots of ideas on Pinterest if you are in need of inspiration.
There are no precise directions. I only ask that your finished project be something that you would be excited to receive and that you put that little bit of extra love that you usually put into your POMs

If youd like to join, please send a pm to me tlambing and include the following

    Real Name
    Phone #
    Email address
    Can you swap Internationally?

Sign ups will be open until February 1st. Names out soon after. You will have until February 28th to mail your project.

Id really like to keep this about the project, so I am going to ask that we not send extra goodies. This will help to keep postage down as well as helping us not feel an obligation to shower our partner with gifts. If you feel you must do something extra, how about writing a poem or drawing a picture or sharing a joke or even a recipe? I bet you can think of something!
As soon as names are given, please contact your partner right away.
Please contact me asap if you are having trouble getting in contact.
Please continue to post on the thread throughout the swap. Let everyone know of your progress, post sneak peeks and encourage other swappers. Its so much fun seeing everyones progress and sharing in our quilting friendship.
I ask that you let me know when you send your project and when you receive from your partner.
Any swapper that does not follow through with their obligation to the swap will be banned from future swaps and will receive negative (swap) feedback.

****Please make sure to read the general rules that apply to all swaps here on the quilting board****

I am joyously drowning in wedding crafts. May make yards of pennants for June event on a ranch. Have fun everyone. Will join back in a few months.

Sign ups are closed. Names will be out this evening after work. We have a very tiny few of us, so we may not have "partners " maybe a "send to" name.
    Thanks for joining in,

I would have joined. but I don't use banners at all. I didn't want to waste anyones fabrics and time. I am excited to see what is made though. These pictures are of a runner I made this week. It is a bright pale yellow. The picture with it on the table and my 1927 Singer machine on it is closer to the real color. It is even more yellow and brighter. The cream color picture is the full picture but looks cream color not yellow. I thought I would just post for ya all to have something to look at while your making banners. lol.

I worked several hours on the hand embroidery sunday. Then a hour or two Monday-Thursday. I probably have 10 or so hours in that part. Then I used my new ( Christmas) sewing machine and did the fancy stitch in the center. I love my new machine. Thanks for the compliment .

I'm going to flag/subscribe to this thread to see what you come up with. If I had more time last month I would have included a valentine banner with the mini I sent to ube Eager to see the projects as they come in.

Mary, cute little runner. I love it.
put off till tomorrow what you can do today, and if you procrastinate long enough, you may never have to do it.

I can she received it and this is part of the message that Jan sent-----"Was a nice surprise to get to the mail box today. We got ALOT of snow dumped on yesterday andlast night so I couldn't get into work today...Been sewing and baking to keepbusy!!!THANKS you so much for thepennant . We will be celebrating my fathers 90th FEB 26th at church and I havejust the place I can put the pennant to use!!!"

I must admit that I was going to machine embroider the tone on tone pieces with some sort of message or pattern but when I got Jan's name I decided to leave them blank. They are reversible so either side can be used and I wasn't sure what to put on them. Second reason is I thought she might want to do some of her amazing hand embroidery to personalize it for her purposes I'm really glad she'll be able to put it to use.

Oh no, I just noticed that the stitching didn't "catch" on the gold piece. I am so sorry Jan, I should have checked it better. I hope it's not to much trouble for you to fix it.....The stitching is showing white on all the pieces but it actually matches each piece. Boy do I feel stupid, I better start checking better..... again so sorry!!!
