Jane, please let us know too how you plan the fabrics! (for example, repro 30's was one white/white or white paired with one print, while the b/w, w/b, brights had a different combination). I'd like to plan ahead too so I could take advantage of sales on fabric that I'd need to buy.

I have a question...are all 6 blocks swapped out, so I make 7 if want one to keep, or will 5 be swapped and one returned to me? Just got through making the first block...seems pretty straight forward...I like the block!

All 6 swapped out rw, you need to make another one to keep for yourself.

All the blocks are swapped out so if you want one for yourself, please make an extra block. If you're making 7 blocks, you'll need 1/3 yd each of the requested theme fabrics instead of our beloved FQ's.

Hope that answers your question!

Just about finished with the valentine blocks....6 sets. They were fun to do and my husband helped to cut out the blocks/ They look so pretty side by side.

Will continue with the D4P through at least August.

Here's my plan for the rest of the year, all with the D4P block (unless I decide to throw in another surprise):

Mar - Patriotic – red/white/blue
Apr- Civil War Reproduction - any color w/ light colored shirting fabric
May - Asian w/ solid black
June - Chocolate covered Cherries - browns and pinks
July – Batiks Revisited - Batiks w/ solid black (1st dibs to those who didn't get in on the January swap)
August – Christmas (obvious)
Sept – black/white - black on white or white on black with solid black or solid white
Oct – Autumn
Nov – red/white
Dec - floral/off-white - small scale floral no bigger than a quarter paired with off-white

What I am getting at is would it be okay if I started on doing April's block now? If you are not planning on any surprises for this block I would like to get started on it. Since you do not want any early signups I will just do it and wait. Is there anything unwise about that decision? I have the material. It is a regular D4P right?

I was also curious about the upcoming 'calendar' too. I didn't want to get a head start only to find out my color or print placement might be wrong in sewing the block. For example, I found a cute pink and brown print and wanted to buy it, but wasn't sure if there might be a requirement in the color value or color placement-- like there was for the black on white and white on black fabric & brights swap. Maybe it will be one pink/brown print for 2 of the squares, and one pink square, and one brown square. Or I suppose monochromatic could be involved. It's sorta hard to be patient when Jane's making it so fun! :-))))
