Sharon, You are just too much!!! I do have Monday off, and it IS January.......so instead of cleaning up the Laundry room, I guess that I can take a look at the design block I have picked out and start working on it and doing the step by step. OKAY, I have been browbeaten enough.....(hahahaha) I will get started on it.

Well, I did look at the pattern that I had chosen, and realize that if I did just the 12 inch block, it would be so very, very plain. So, after searching for something similar, I have decided to do a modified Churn Dash block. I have found a pattern that changes the center to be 8-1/2 x 8-1/2, with the 'framing strips' and corner blocks to be a bit smaller. I feel this is a perfect block pattern to showcase your focus piece. After I request swap permission from Patrice about the upcoming swap, I will begin to post. The actual pattern and instructions are found here, at this link. http://quilting.about.com/od/blockof...churn_dash.htm
What do you think of this block?
Happy Quilting in the New Year!!

That block is really cool. Now like Sharon, I'm waiting for themes so I can go stash shopping.
I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day.

Okay, found the icon, but the pic failed to take. I guess it needs to be resized.....not sure how to do that.

    Hey

Hey looky looky......here is the sample pic of the block that I have in mind for the next swap. Thanks, Sharon for your help. It is GOOD to have a Moderator in the swaps! Still waiting for the okay from the 'boss'. I do have the correct amounts of fabric needed for 12 blocks as well. Oh - Patrice....where oh where are you?Name: IMG_1756 (640x480).jpg

Cool Pictures of Dresden Plate Poinsettia and Snowflake swap

Here are pictures of lap sized quilts with blocks made from this swap, Dresden Plate Poinsettia and Snowflake swap.

The Poinsettia quilt is hung up in the living room for the Christmas season. DH really likes it as does one of my adult DDs that stopped by today.

The snowflake quilt was gifted to my 15 year old daughter who came to live with us at the age of 11 yrs. She really liked the snowflake blocks. What is interesting is that we do not have snow here and half of her life she lived on a tropical island. She is always cold! These are snowflakes she can enjoy and that keep her warm. She loves the quilt and has been using it since she received it last night.

Thank you Deb and fellow swappers for making these quilts possible.

thank you so much for sharing this with me. I am tempted to host another one - have been talking about God's Eye for a year or more now. Things have been pretty crazy for me this year, as I am sure for many others. There are several swaps going on, but I guess I am picky - they are great, but just not what I am looking for. Thank you for keeping in touch with me! Happy New Year to you!
