I'm going to have to re-do my first block. It just isn't turning out right. The measurements are way off.
Here is my third block. I just absolutely love him. He turned out so cute. The background fabric has a little glitter on it. The block is 9 1/2". Red, I know it was suggested to make dark blocks but his legs wouldn't show up on a dark block.

I LOVE Him! The dark or bright background is perfect Klaws! If you look at the quilts from previous swaps on page tow of this thread, there are brights in it to set it off and make it fun! I love you block, OMG! How cute is that?

I am so sorry you had to redo your blocks, Judith and Klaws. That really sucks. I have been in this situation before and it isn't the happiest decision to make.

No, but redoing those blocks was the right thing to do. Gosh, It gummed up my machine needle awful. Then I did an internet search about the problem. Then went back and read the fine print on the packing. They were completely unusable. I have them almost to the stage where I stitch them done. Thank goodness, no harm done this time. (wink) lol

What do you girls think about 6 sets of 4 blocks instead of the way it is now for the winter swap? It would be easier on us making less of one block set with only the four. That way there will be lots of different blocks to swap out. The amount would total the same. Thoughts???

I like that Idea Red. I get so bored making 6 of the same block and fabrics. And it also lends itself to trying more blocks, which makes for more variety.

Right now , I' making 9 of the same blocks. A set of 6, an extra for our gracious host (you) lol. And a set for me and a set for a friend. Whew, that is a lot of blocks.

What a sweetie! I just love the extra hostess blocks and little fat quarters you gals send. It really makes it nice for me. And I use some of them for charity items I make.

Nine sets! Wowee, Judith. That is a ton of work!

I think that's a good idea. It would make for a bigger variety. It would give me a chance to practice on some pieced blocks instead of all applique.
