Nope. But that's a good guess, Mary. Anybody else?

Hello Everyone: It was so nice reading everyone's notes. Have been off the board for several months. Lurked when I felt well enough to do so. Hope to rejoin in the near future. Happy New Year to all!!

Mary -- your dog is absolutely beautiful! How old is she? And what's her name?

Deb -- your two pups are adorable as well! I do love the way bloodhounds look, all skinny in their skin. LOL You sure do have your hands full with 6 kids, 2 puppies, & 1 husband! (Or is that 7 kids???)

Mary -- nice goodies you've made & received. I really have to make myself one of those mats that fit under the machine to hold stuff.

Since you're showing photos of animals -- & I think you've already seen photos of my dog Jack & my cat Arthur -- here's a photo of one of the inhabitants of the Bronx Zoo. Do you know what it is?

If no one guesses, I will tell you what it is tomorrow, okay? Let's see how many people can get it right!
Okay Pamela, is it a Tapir?

Deb

Thanks ladies, for the nice comments about my puppies! I suppose I should have introduced my DH if I am going to have him in a photo! That is my sweetie, Brad, he had to anchor the two sillies because they kept wanting to sit on my feet instead of posing!

(I think he is handsome, too!)

Deb

Tapir? Atleast that came to my mind. Is he from Latin America?

Okay, Mary, I see you're just playing with me!

It is a tapir. There are 4 species, all endangered. Three from Central & South America, & the 4th species is the fellow I took a photo of -- he's from Malaysia & is the largest of the four species. They are all herbivores & weigh anywhere from 500-800 lbs. And until I went to the Bronx Zoo earlier this year .... uh, last year ... I had never seen one. I thought it was in the pig family, but it's related to the horse & rhinoceros! Go figure!

That tapir is really different. Looks like ant eater and a pig body. Unusual. I love going to the zoo. I want to go to the St. Louis zoo. They rent wheel chairs there from what I hear. I can't walk very far.foot and ankle spurs. Post more pictures OK.
