Laurie I see why patriotic or flag colors. That is appropriate. I am up sewing on pieces for a quilt tonight. It always feels so relaxing to me. Gets my mind on other things. We sure are getting close to getting our special names. I always look forward to that.

Earlier I said that I had something to show off. Yesterday I received the BEST pincushion that I ever received! I did a special pc swap with PeginCO's 10 yr old daughter Claire. She did such a wonderful job. I think she put me to shame. She also made me a little Santa face magnet and sent 2 pretty pieces of fabric and wrote the most precious note. Now is the time for all of you to be jealous. Here is a picture of Claire's two-peas-in-a-pod wrist pincushion.

She has such talent. I think she would be a great addition to our group if she is willing and everyone agrees. What do you say???

I made her a chicken pincushion and sent a lot of little things to add to her sewing basket. Peg said that she will post pictures later.

Karen that is darling! I have seen patterns for the pea pod pincushion, but never saw a "real" one. It would be fine with me to have her join the group, looks like she certainly has the skills. I wonder if there is an age requirement to join the QB? If anyone has an objection to swapping with Claire, please shoot me a PM.

Claire you did a wonderful job on that pincushion, and the pretty santa magnet too. I sure hope there is no age limit. I have never made either one of those before. When I seen the picture of it on the wrist it really showed what a good size it is too.
Welcome Claire!

Claire you did such a good job on the pincushion and Santa magnet. I wouldn't have a problem with it. I think we have to start the young ones early.

You all are so kind! I read your comments to Claire, and she was all smiles. I hesitate to add her to the board, even if eligible, for personal reasons (nothing major - just she doesn't get on the computer very often, she's young and her skill is developing, maybe not everyone would appreciate that...). Let me think about it! At least I could help her manage a few swaps through me. I can keep a list of willing participants. Or maybe I can add her through lauriejo on a few months that work for us. Each of you is so dear to offer! Thank you!

Let me tell you, though, it wouldn't be for lack of willingness on Claire's part. She had so much fun with Karen. It was truly an encouragement to her. Here she is with her chicken pin cushion. And below that - her fun, fun package! Thanks a million, klaws!
