You girls both have very pretty yards. Thanks also for the tips on the best place to get some rose bushes. We had to go out today, and it was so hot and humid I was very glad to be back home. Got to see my dad, and he is doing ok. I had got him a big hanging basket of red flowers, and after all the rain we got yesterday they were bloomed out pretty.

I don't want to be out during the 4th. I don't mind here close, but not away anywhere.
I hope everyone that has not been here is ok.

Red, it looks like your Halloween blocks are a big hit. I haven't even thought about what I'm going to do yet.

We are about three weeks behind the valley floor in spring and have an earlier cold snap than they do. It is high desert with sandy soil and has extreme weather changes with a lot of wind. I have seen snow almost up to the top of my redwood fence in the back yard! I buy plants for the zone 3. It has worked out great for me.

I hope everyone will enjoy the halloween blocks. They are kinda fussy to do, but too cute not to make. Thanks for letting me know. I will have to go over to the thread and see what is up with them.

I have been considering joining up with the pin cushions swap again and have been lurking around to see what you gals are doing with them.

I'm not sure what is going on with this swap. We haven't heard from Lauriejo in 3 weeks. I sent a pm to Patrice and told her that if Laurie isn't going to be the host any more that I would take over. We've been up in the air too long. We will see what happens.

red, i NEED to see your blocks. Please join us again. love your work too. sending you a pkg.
Karen, would you start now so we can get it going? I'm sure Laurie wouldn't mind. Just worried about her, that's all.
Need to go to the garden ctr. tomorrow. my pansies are all dead, and it just occured to me, they are not coming back.
Are they annuals or bi annuals? does anyone know? great advice here on this thread of ours.
Karen, thanks for offering to host us.

I told Patrice that I would take over if Laurie didn't want to do it any more. This is the response I got:

"i'm up to my hips in plumbing issues right now.
check back with me in a week or so."

I don't know what to do. What does everyone think? Let's have a vote.

Go with it and email Laurajo and let her know that you are just stepping in ill he can get back to being hostess. I might leave a message on her phone also so you cover both bases... JMHO...

That sounds good for me. It's not like she didn't know it's time for the signups. And if she's still that sick she should have let Patrice know herself. Now everyone is waiting to see what's going on.

Who's up to their hips in plumbing problems... Patrice or Laurie?
I think 2 weeks is to long to wait for a 'yes' or 'no' for helping out but yet you have to be careful stepping on someone else's toes. If there's a lot going on a simple thing can put someone over the edge at times.

I agree w/ eyes. Relationships over things...it's just a pin cushion...

Lauriejo is a responsible person, so something must be up. I'm ok with waiting. Hope she's doing all right!
