    I got these beautiful fabrics from Retired Fire Chief, I love the color combo, I have decided to find some coordinating fabrics and make a throw for the couch. Tried to post yesterday but I have dialup because I live in the country and it wouldn't work. I just loved how she wrapped them up.

    What a sweet little angel! How lucky to be able to hold them when they are so little.. I think your very fortunate.

    I received a beautiful package of fat quarters all wrapped up with pretty silver curl sheen ribbon from my partner Girliegirl (?) Shirley. She sent me gorgeous stars, stripes and flags and I can't wait to put them into a runner! I kept my camera out of packing being the smart girl that I am. Being half whacked however I packed up the little thing you put the card into that plugs into the computer (name eludes me currently) and I cant post pictures! I hope you took a pic Shirley so you can post for me please they are so lovely I want everyone to drool over them.

    I have truly enjoyed all the patriotic colors this month and think we will be seeing some fun projects come out of them. A wonderful addition to the fq stash. I love using my fat quarters.. its easier to pull one and use it for me than to cut a piece out of my not huge 1 yrd stash for some reason. Like I am saving those for??

    I probably missed it but has the next swap been decided? Seems something was said about 30's, or holidays? Or was I just wishfull thinking?

    and this set came from RetiredFireChief .... all wrapped so pretty in ribbon. Look at all those stars .... I couldn't be happier than a bee in a field of clover!

    Thank you swappers! This month has been so much fun and now I'm ready to make a wall hanging for July.
    ... and I'm looking forward to July's repro fabrics because I've never worked with those fabrics exclusively.
    Make it a scrappy happy day!

    I'm excited about next months' swap! 30's reproductions - - - yeah!!! Isn't it great that we can all have different tastes??? That's one of the things I enjoy so much about quilting. We can be a diverse group and still get along. Hhhhmmm. . . . . if only the rest of the world were like quilters. . . . Jane

    Jane, I agree with you for the most part about the rest of the world were more like quilters, but I'm still stinging from a moment with the Chief of Quilt Police last night. She told I wasn't a true quilter or artist because my quilts did not contain a coordinating mixture of large print, medium print and various colors and hues combine into an organized design. I asked about the quality and value of Gee's Bend Quilters. Her nose went in the air and she turned and started talking to another person treating me as if I was not there ..... for the rest of the evening. She made sure I was also snubbed by others. Me being me did not walk away and acted as if I enjoyed the gathering. But today it stings and I will give none of those involved the time of day (or support for any of their activities) for a long, long time.

    WOW the Chief needs a setdown I think. That ain't right Marymo. I guess I am also a non true quilter because well I have made things without all three size patterns in them also. I think quilting is art. Anything you create that makes you happy is a work of art. period. So no no no that simply was wrong and I am sorry to hear what you had to go through. How embarrassing FOR HER to behave that way.

    MaryMo, I think she was very rude. I just do what I like and what pleases my eye. If that's what a guild is like I'm glad I haven't joined one. Just do as you like and tell the police to bug off.

    Now I know why I haven't joined a guild. To me quilting or any other hobby for that matter is for the enjoyment of doing it. Yes I think if you're interested in it enough you would want to better your skills at it but to have someone tell you "your" style is wrong, well sorry that's just pure and simple wrong!!! You go girl and walk down your own path. The only one you have to please is yourself. I make up stuff in my head all the time and try to put it to fabric, sometimes it works....sometimes not, but I tell myself if it's a not.

    Thank you all for the warm wishes for little Hattie. I am blessed to be so close to her and her parents that I can hold her, and for her to be healthy, and hopefully she is done with the colic, she had a good night last night.

    As always wonderful FQs coming in. So many different one! That firecracker on is too cute!

    MaryMo sorry you had to endure that delusional person. I wouldn't call her a chief of anything, she clearly is misguided. But I suspect that as long as there have been quilts and quilters there have been some self appointed pita persons imposing their opinions on others. Hope the sting goes away quickly! Don't let her rain on your parade! Quilt away --Your way! {{hugs}}

    I have a couple of 30's FQ ready but need to get out and get some more for my quota. Thanks Brenda for advance info. With enough advance notice we can even order online if needed.
