nh, that's so pretty. It's always pretty in the country in may. We can see a small tinge of greenish color to the pasture. The cows are trying to find bits of grass here and there. They are also starting to rub on the barn and trees etc. Means they are starting to shed their winter hair. Yes, that's a good sign of spring coming. Yesterday was 76* unreal. today maybe 40*.Even 40 is better than what it's been so much. Lauriejo, hope you and everyone feels better soon. Thanks for the pictures.

beautiful pictures. they look like postcards and the green is very encouraging. we still have bits of snow here and there. I even had the window open for a bit yesterday, the cat loved it. now it's dreary and miserable out. thunder and rain tonight turning to snow tomorrow am. Wow, what fun!
NH hope you're feeling better soon.
I need to stay healthy for the cruise...San Juan, St Thomas,St. Maarten and Dominican Republic. I'm trying to find a fabric store there, but I can't locate it yet.

That's a good way to find fabric. When I went to Aruba in the late 90's, I walked some of the back streets and found some fantastic and cheap fabric. That's when I was making dolls. It might not be a fabric store but a variety store that has everything. It won't be your typical tourist store. Keep that in mind. You might not have a lot of time to explore since you are only in port a short time. I was in Aruba for 2 weeks so I had plenty of time to check things out.

Oh but lynnie you will certainly be able to find SUN! Right now I would much rather have a warm sunny day than a fabric sale. Although as I am typing this the sun did just come out brilliantly. Of course it is only 28 degrees and very windy.

I love the pictures of the pretty scenery.

All my plans are just that, plans. LOL.... I try to get away from my reality of lupus, sjogrens, etc. which always has the last word. For instance today, I forgot to have my husband last night to set my alarm for a certain time to get up today to mail my package off while the post office was open. Most of the week for help (we can go in 24 hours with our key to check our mail) it is open only from 2 - 4. A two hour window.

See, I was up most of the night couldn't sleep due to my dad being in a car wreck with one of my great nieces. They are both ok, as far as we know, although my great niece was taken to hospital when her chest was hurting. The guy dad hit was taken to hospital with his neck hurting. So, I have been stressed out, and that doesn't bode well with lupus. lol.. I love my dad a bunch, but he is going to kill us kids off with all the worry he is putting us through. lol..
He is 81, and after this I don't think he should be driving again. He will be having us taking him where he needs to go for awhile.

Tomorrow makes 2 years since my mom died, and it seems like yesterday to me. Right now every time I sew I think of her which is good, but sad too. She sewed all her life, and made us clothes when we were growing up. They were pretty too. She made many quilts, crocheted, cross stitched, embroidered, had her regular machines that my dad got her, and her serger. Every baby around had a blanket mom made, and family babies all had little sweater/bootie/cap sets she made them.

The sad part is, I retired with disability too sick to continue from these disorders as a teacher in 2010, so I had never sewed much, and did not get the chance to sew with mom while she was here. She did live long enough to see me begin sewing and quilting. She got to see the trial bow tuck tote I made, so then I went out and bought some really nice fabric to make mom a beautiful one. She said, yes make me one. But, she wasn't here for me to make it. I had sewed some in my 20's, and made one very ugly quilt then too. lol.. It really was ugly, because I had no patience and did not have sewing/quilting in my blood then. But, I was determined to finish it, and I did. Nothing but sewing blocks together, and hand quilted it. Biggest hand quilted stitches you ever seen.

Mom would tell me about how she loved to just feel her fabric. Back then I had no understanding of that. Now I touch all my fabric, and almost hate cutting it up. lol.... I now find myself doing or saying all the things mom use too. lol...

Both my packages will be in the mail tomorrow. My clock will be set just in case. hehe..

Today is dark, colder, and raining. Yesterday it got up in the high 70's.
Happy Sewing everyone!!

Thank you Karen. This is what I received today from Klaws. What a wonderful needlecase with all kinds of goodies, needles, small scissors, candy, fabric, and a great cat and mouse pin. Thank you so much.
