A word about the little Turtles. They are made of Fossil Fern by Benartex. I double-stuffed each turtle shell with extra layer of batting so the hand stitching is to secure the batting inside the shells. These are the baby turtles of my childhood in rural Michigan, where the rains of late April would bring the little hatchlings to the mud puddles in the long gravel driveway that stretched from the country road up past the farmhouse and beyond to the big red barn, grainery and to the fields. As kids, we would go out after every rainstorm, to search the puddles for baby turtles, and save them, before Daddy arrived home driving his old green Buick. I enjoyed making this mini, and thanks for posting, Nelco. In fact, I might make another one for me.

Yonnikka, that's for the story that goes with the turtles.
