All of the mug rugs are just beautiful, and so many other nice goodies. That bowl you made Whigrose is very nice and oh so pretty.

There are so many talented folks here.

I found these instructions online. This one shows a darling shallow version with handles, but it tells you how to make the other shapes too.

Hi all,
Thanks for the compliments on the bowl. I have been making them before books, blogs and internet. There are lots of tutorials out there on the web. The big thing is you really DO need to use 100 % cotton line, along with a new needle.

Depending on your location, the cotton line can be difficult to find-check the big box stores, hardware and agriculture stores. Some folks report picking theirs up a various dollar stores; I've never had any luck there.

I've made little ones that held paper clips to very large ones. Warning, your fellow quilter has determined these fabric covered, coiled objects may become addicting.

Have fun!

I see we have some beautiful mug rugs. wow! all levels of skills all made with love. I think that is what these swaps are all about. I am so thankful that everyone is helping the newbies get better, the older ones who have been quilting for eons feel good about all they have done. I think its wonderful! I see these packages and think wowsa.. the amazing VARIETY of what is made is terrific. You guys are so creative it really is boggling! Where do you get your ideas? I see tiny flying geese (groan for me that is the hardest thing to make ever) and think that person was nuts! how did they do THAT? then there are all the appliques.. oh my gosh that is so hard. hexi's? no way! and there are the straight forward regular quilted items that with the right fabrics are really really pretty. You cant lose. I can not wait to see what else is going to show up I know it will be truly fun. And next month.. a spring destination.. does that mean floral and Paris? Cacti and sunshine? a beach with tropical flowers? its going to be another wildly fun mug rug because it will be so open to interpretation that surely we will see things we have not seen before

Beautiful mug rug, Vita, as well as all the cool goodies you sent Nelco, too. Another great swap.

I love the mug rug I received. It's right here at my computer. When I don't have a mug on it, I use it to rest my elbow when typing.

Have we seen all the swaps yet?
