I believe snow should fall only on non-manmade places. Only on December 24th, melt by December 30th, and we should have crocus and daffodils by Valentine's Day.

I don't hate winter, I just like the other seasons much better
I agree wholeheartedly...and that's one of the reasons why I moved from New York to Georgia!!! C'mon down, y'all :)

I lived in Georgia. We had terrible ice storms all 5 years I was there. Sure winter didn't last long, but the water shortages were really hard.

If I could live anywhere it would be Utah for the Mountains, Georgia for the people and flowers, Oregon for the year round green, Grand Mesa for the solitude, Colorado for the sports teams, Alaska for the advnture, Montana for the sky, Italy for the food, Korea for the prices, Germany for the stuff I like, and Holland - because my sister lives there. I better just grow where I'm planted. After 29 years here, I better just stay put. but I loved living in Georgia.

Those two snowman quilts are adorable. That first one with the quilt is definitely thinking out of the box. Great job ladies.

And do I love spring! The sweet fresh smell of the earth again!

Gwyn, DH and I are dairy farmers, which means we go out and work in the stuff everyday. If it's snowed, you have to shovel before you get into the barn; to carry grain and water to my calves I have to trudge through the stuff. And if it's a day the milk truck comes, then the lane has to be cleared b4 he comes, which is a couple of hours b4 milking is started. Then add the cold wind blowing through your clothes (multiple layers, I might add) while you are carrying said water and grain. And when you get back to the warm, moist milkroom, your glasses fog up and you can't see.

Thanks for letting me vent!! And do I love spring! The sweet fresh smell of the earth again!

Sorry ladies, I can't relate because I grew up in So. CA and now live in Central CA...no ice and snow here, except for 1 very cold storm in 1999 when we got 4" of snow. So, 1 day in 20 years.

I like looking at pictures of snow, and maybe spending the day sliding down a really small hill with the grandkids, but that's it!! My bones don't like cold. I'm glad I live where it's sunny 340 days out of 365. :-)

Oh my goodness, I recieved the most beautiful fall Dq today. Wah hoo, I love it. everything about it is wonderful. Oh, I should tell you who sent me this little treasure: ZJ'squiltymomma. She also sent me a set of nickel squares in the most beautiful fall colors, I've never had a nickel pack to play with before, I'm thinking of making one of those twister wreaths with it, but gotta make a test run first.

Isn't it beautiful, look at the leaves, they are machine appliqued, aren't they wonderful, and they cute little buttons. She said the applique was her first time, its perfect. Even the binding is perfect. Love everything about it. Thank you, and a happy New year 2011.
