Okay - so I was up at the crack of dawn today - I woke up thinking about these placemats and last week I had purchased my fabrics and a pattern only to stress out that it was too plain and simple so I decided on the below photos. First one will show a repeat of the fabrics purchased, and the other two the overall design - end rows are not stitched down yet but you will get the idea. Mary Ellen I hope these will work for you. Still need to sandwich, quilt and bind.

I bought several sets of table linens while living in Italy. THey are mostly German made though. I often bought from a Gypsy couple that had "used" linens. Sometimes the hems was frayed, or it had a tiny hole or was missing 1 napkin..but I never paid more than $3. USD for any set! I have some lovely ones I have picked up here in OK at estate sales/auctions as well. Never paying more than a $2-3! I just love them!

The placemats I'm making are kinda simple but tried to do "artsy". Not sure if they are but went "outside my box". Think garden thoughts Oh, and regarding your husband......you are too funny!!!! If I send something for him I will surely cover in plastic....
