I would be interested in a red, white and blue swap for 2014.

" How many folks would like to join in another swap for 2104? "

ME!!!!!!!! I would love to do another one.
I took my quilt to my ECA meeting last night to show the other members.. most of them loved it. Then one lady(?) walked up, checked it over with a magnifing glass and white gloves (well, not actually), and then said to me---Are y'all ready for this?? "Oh, I thought you made a REAL quilt." I told her I DID make a real one. She sniffed and said, "No, REAL quilts are hand quilted ." Well, my mouth is still hanging open! What do you say to ignorant people? And I'm donating every cent made on this raffle quilt to this club which will benefit her too. Oh...but she did compliment me on my binding.
As my late DH always said- No good deed will go unpunished. Ain't it the truth!

Ignore her and just keep on walking. She sounds bitter. Poor thing.

I would be interested in another swap but will need to see how much fabric I have that meets the color theme. Most of the red/white and blue I have are not true white, bright red and blue but slightly more muted. Maybe I can post when the time comes and people can decide or I can maybe trade some with some one to get the needed shades. I am not in a good position to buy more fabric at the moment. I sure liked this swap and the top is looking promising. Maybe I'll take a picture even if it is not finished.

I put it on point. Let me go upstairs and see if I can get a decent picture. I always love seeing what others are making with the swap blocks. sofar friends and family that have seen the top really like it. patriotic quilts are very popular.

    Smile Pictures of Red/White/Blue top

My helper, Nina, is in the pictures too.
On the top I have a narrow dark blue star border and then a red star border. I plan to do those all around to make it bigger. I also added some red/white/blue blocks I already had and some from a BOOM swap or maybe other swaps.

Libster what a beautiful job on your quilt! Annaquilts your quilt top really looks great, too!
Yes, I am really interested in another Red, White & Blue swap. Please let us know "when". I have already found a couple of new blocks I want to make

I love the way you've laid out your top! It looks fabulous. I see some of my blocks in there.
Even men like patriotic quilts. I think maybe they equate their military service with the colors. In my area, those colors are very popular. I just found out that the ladies in my club bought $332 in tickets for themselves last night. All of them also took tickets to sell to others. I'm hoping that we really do well with it.

It has been slow go but I have to quilt the inset triangles on two more sides and the borders on those sides and then the patriotic quilt will be fully quilted. Did anyone else put these blocks into a top? If so I would love to see pictures.
