Just a reminder that I am a recreational quilter so it is far from perfect. As you might be able to see my iron ate one of bear's paws so I have a lame bear now, but that is okay with me. Can't wait to see others.hope the pictures comes out.

Just being nosey from Gp 2, love this row, and was thinking, if you want to divide up the red bears paws , a little lead work ie. bias binding over seams would break it up, especially if you could get something similar in color to the bears.
I also like the fact you're leaving the lame bear in, gives him/her some personality.

Thanks. I was thinking of what they use in the stained glass quilts but contrasting binding might work just as well. Thanks for the idea.

OK should have probibly ask this sooner, do any of you want to name this group, throw out any ideas you have.
We have Classic blocks or sampler style, flower - Alaska related, on the farm, mellow in red and ivory, bearpaw and log cabin woodsy themed. Sounds like a group of country style Quilters.

Here's another question does any one mind if I include sashing for between the blocks? I'll measure, cut and can send out separately when needed. Let me know. Thanks

seymoore 01-06-2011 08:31 PM

I don't mind sashing - I might do the same.
Will be thinking about a name for our group...

Ann L 01-07-2011 02:24 AM

No, go a head and send out sashing with the instructions! I will be thinking of a name as well, but I am not very good at things like that. you said something about "country quilters" That would work for me. Or "Coast to Coast and In Between" Just kidding on that one. :)

Roda, that is so cool. I'm hoping to really get to working on mine this week. Life gets in the way, funny how that works!

seymoore 01-13-2011 11:27 AM

Thanks, I think it is perfect. And yes, I am trying to use that. It's turning out to be a chore, but it will be worth it.

roda 01-14-2011 06:41 PM

You'll think I'm crazy but I saw a lady who was doing what she called fading. She had her soild material and took a Qtip diped in bleach and was pulling the color out in places and then would cut her peices from this

Ann L 01-14-2011 06:52 PM

Sounds interesting. Would almost come out like batiks right?
On another note, will someone tell s when we mail our row or do we just mail it to the next one in line? This is my first time doing this.

seymoore 01-15-2011 11:40 AM

I've been thinking about a name for our group - here are a few suggestions:

Sapphire Sisters
September Sisters
Coast to Coast and In Between (mentioned earlier - I like it)
September Kindred Spirits

That is cute. Peeking in from group 3.

Ann L 01-15-2011 01:58 PM

Seymoore, I like yours better than mine. Since we all have Sept. BD I think anyone of those three will work nicely. BTW I have been brain storming about your row........And all the others for that matter. I am working this weekend and it usually isn't busy on the weekend. Thank goodness only it makes for a long day.

roda 01-20-2011 02:45 PM

OK girls I need the name so I can make my label so whats it going to be

Ann L 01-20-2011 04:41 PM

How about September Kindred Spirits?

seymoore 01-20-2011 06:44 PM

Sounds good to me!

C.Cal Quilt Girl 01-21-2011 08:28 AM

I like the Saphire, but the others good with me also, So are we good with "September Kindered Spirits" If so lets do it!! :)

seymoore 01-21-2011 12:54 PM

I like Saphire Sisters better. LOL But I am very flexibile, whatever the group wants...

Ann L 01-21-2011 06:43 PM

Saphire is good too.

roda 01-22-2011 09:14 AM

I like Saphire sisters too

C.Cal Quilt Girl 01-23-2011 08:57 PM

Saphire Sisters it is !! Look for an update on the title :)

Back from Road to Cal, really have to the blocks done.

seymoore 01-23-2011 09:57 PM

Yay, we have a title! Welcome back!

roda 01-24-2011 07:42 PM

wanting a peak at seymoore's

seymoore 01-24-2011 10:13 PM

Oh Roda, so sorry! Its not presentable yet. Soon though... ;-)

Ann L 01-25-2011 06:46 AM

I want to see EVERYONE'S rows! That way I can plan a little bit and not just guess.

roda 01-25-2011 08:47 AM

On the labels are we just going to sign them and with what

seymoore 01-25-2011 10:12 AM

I am a little confused about the labels actually. :-)

Ann L 01-25-2011 01:26 PM

I had a label made and there is a spot for you to sign your name and where you are from and also a place to put the name of your block if you like. I had someone on this site do it for me. I could recommend her if you like. It was $3.00 for the label and she did it how I wanted it. She was very quick and did an outstanding job. I can take a picture of mine tonight when I get home and put in on here if you like. I didn't have our group name at the time so I just put "Row Robin 2011" as my title.

Ann L 01-25-2011 01:28 PM

It was sewnsewer2 who did mine. I just went into the classifieds and looked up someone that did labels. I don't have embroidery on my machine.

seymoore 01-25-2011 01:33 PM

If you could post the pic tonight, that would be great! Thanks!
