Pretty Marcia! Bolts of fabric, wow...

I think I have a bicycle pattern with basket....applique.

Pretty fabrics Marcia. They will make into some great blocks.

I am enjoying seeing fabric stash choices. Wow! Very pretty! I went to my local quilt group today and encouraged these wonderful quilters to join this swap with me. I hope they will join in the fun.

Here are the proto-type of my first four blocks girls. I hope you like them.

The sailor dress and eagle are in honor of my family members serving in the marines and navy. The cherries are in honor of George Washington who as everyone knows chopped down a cherry tree. And lastly the butterfly is the freedom we all are enjoying.

Red, I love all your demo blocks. That little Sailor dress is my favorite. I love the fabrics your working with. You have a fun stash!

Thanks Judith. I have many more to choose from. I like you, have been hoarding these for a patriotic red white and blue quilt. I want more though and noticed connecting threads has a new line that would be fun to use. I am thinking of picking up the fat quarter stack they have there.

While looking at one of your links, earlier in this thread, I saw a darling patriotic red white and blue quilt pattern by pat sloan. So adorable with many blocks to make a quilt. I went to her site and bought it. Gee, I really didn't need another project. LOL!

Here is a sample of one block that I will do. My white on white background is scrappy and I didn't notice that I had used two kinds of fabric till I had them all cut out. I have some bad lighting today. It is really overcast. Do you all think it looks too weird or is it ok?

javin, I like your block. I think it looks great scrappy. I have done that myself before. Only, did it on purpose to use up scraps.

What a darling butterfly. You know.....that one could fly to my house....I spent 8 grueling, lonely years in college studying entomology. Pretty much a total waste. I got a job as a honeybee inspector and 2 years later became allergic to them. My boss was most concerned and politely asked me to resign. I was more than glad to do so. Now I just stay inside most of the time and play with my fabric.

Thanks for the input on my scrappy background. I guess I will just finish the ships with the fabric I have cut out then. I will be watching on the next ones to make sure I cut the same fabric.

{Does anybody know of block swap for coastal colors, or round robin?}

Does anybody know of a ROW robin, where 5 people get together and swap ideas for their quilt rows they would like, start the first row, send it to the next, and goes through the 5 people until it gets bake to the original person? I did one before and you had 2 months to work on the row and get it to the next person. Thanks for helping.

I don't know of any round or row robins going on right now. Nothing in costal colors right now either.

For those still searching for fabric, MSQC has a jelly roll that works. Very patriotic! $21.xx. Can't remember but it's about half price. It's today's special. 4-16-18.

Went and took a look. That is a very pretty jelly roll.

I got 4 tall ships blocks done, now I am looking at patterns to do another set. I will most likely do 5 sets, but I have to figure out what blocks to make first.

This will be my second set. I have 3 of these done so far.

javin, another great block. Your too have an awesome stash. I love those prints.

I haven't committed yet but have 2 1/2 sets done. Love the red, white and blue theme. I'm trying to work them in around a customer order that I need to get done, getting the Wyoming house and yard cleaned up from the winter and then having the yearly doctor appts. etc.....I'll get there, just not sure how many sets yet. Love the blocks I have seen so far, great job ladies!!

I have seen some amazing blocks on this thread so far. I am finishing two other swaps currently and then I will turn on the creative juices to focus on this swap. I've wanted to make a red, white and blue quilt for a long time.

this is what I have done so far. I had to fix the star block, some things were off on the one I posted above, so here is what I will be sending. I will start looking for a pattern for my next set.

Those are beautiful. I had to quit working on mine for awhile. Didn't read the instructions right. I cut out 40 blocks 4 1/2 by 2 and they were only supposed to be 41/2 by 1 3/4

I love all the blocks!

Perfect Battle Axe, they look great. Hope to sew another set tomorrow and then I will post some pics of 3 sets. Customer quilt was worked on today.....
