*Red*White*Blue/Patriotic Block Swap
 

This is a *Red*White*Blue/Patriotic Block Swap with Blocks sets of 4, Up to Five sets per swapper, 20 Blocks maximum.

Sign ups begin now, April 10, 2018
The signups are open till May 10, 2018
The Deadline to have them to me (in my hands) is June15, 2018.
I will swap them out almost upon arrival. As July 4th (Independence Day) will almost be upon us.
If I do not have your blocks in my hands by the deadline, I will swap out without you.

**Please Keep in mind that swap blocks may contain allergens. Please make the decision to either join us or not join us based on what is best for you.**

The Swap is for sets of (4) Blocks. The limit is 5 sets per swapper. 20 Blocks maximum.
No Squares of fabric or DP9's will be counted as a block.
I will trade out all the blocks I receive. Don't forget to make a set for yourself.


****Note**** Blocks sizes are 12.5 only this time. If you want to make 6.5, then you need to make 4 to equal one block. If you want to make a 9.5 block that's fine also. It must be bordered to make it 12.5. (unfinished sizes)

This will make a nice size picnic, lap or donation, QOV (Quilt of Valor) quilt. Or, you could just add borders to make it large enough to make it bed size.

The sets should be the same image/block. But, different fabrics (scrappy) can be used. 100 % cotton fabric must be used.

Any background Fabric can be used as long as it's appropriate for the theme.
Applique blocks must be sewn down!
Embroidery blocks whether hand sewn or machine sewn are fine also.

Mail your blocks to me (or however you see fit) in a priority flat rate envelope using stamps only on the return envelope. (Metered mail expires.) I must return mail it to you by priority mail in order to have a tracking number. Give your package time to get to me please. Make sure to address your return envelope back to yourself. Don't forget to use the proper postage. (Thank you.) Pm me for my address when your ready to send. You can mail whenever your ready.

Place your finished sets in one Large baggie. Make sure your board name is on each block. If your new to the board or just new to swapping, just ask and you will get lots of great suggestions on how to mark your blocks. (I mark mine with the small oblong post its that I pick up at the Dollar Store and sew the on with my machine.)

Should anything come up and you need to withdraw from the swap, just let me know. Life happens sometimes.

Count me in Judith! I got my pattern in the mail yesterday for the sunbonnet and I started an eagle block. I found a couple yesterday in an McCall's magazine I think everyone will like. We will see how many I send. Not sure yet. But oh so excited about this swap! Thank you for hosting Judith.

I will sign up for this red, white, and blue swap! I have a few blocks already made for my quilt, and it will be nice to add swap blocks to it. I have a stash of patriotic fabrics.

Thanks ladies. I'm so glad your joining me. I know we have a lot of swaps running right now with the same dates. I wanted to stall this one a little. But, then we would have been past July 4th. At least keeping the blocks the same size, you could technically be pre-working your sashing options if you wanted to.

I too have a stash of Red, White, and Blue fabrics. Can't wait to get started. Todays the last day I'm allowing myself a peruse through the magazines. I'm almost ready to decide on the blocks I want to make. I already have two Red, White and Blue patchwork quilts that we use on our beds all the time. My DH's and mine, and one on DS's bed. Mine is getting a bit worn. As, I have used it a lot. I also need to make a repair to it as my mother's dog put a tear in one of the blocks. I'm just going to applique a heart over it.

Although, I'm thinking that this quilt needs to go to DD and DSIL. (DSIL was just deployed to Afghanistan for the next 4 months. Hopefully, that will be all. (He is in the National Guard. He started in the Air Force and when his time was up, He shifted to the National Guard.) I will be praying hard for his safe return to DD and grands.

Setting this one out, sorry ladies maybe next one.

I may join this one. I will look through my stash to see what red white and blue fabrics I have and get back to you.

I wish I could join since I enjoyed the Summertime Swap so much but I have my daughter's college graduation with guests, a quilt to finish for a friend's college graduation, and a wedding to go to nine hours away all before the deadline! But you'll probably see me participate in the next one and I can't wait to see all the fun items made in this one!

Well, I finished my first set today. I had to change out the blue I posted for a different one. I could only find 1 FQ of the blue dot. But, I like the other blue I found in stash also.

Judith I really like your blocks with the fussy cut centers.

Thank you Anna, I really putting a block and the right big print together that really "fit" together. I have really liked that print for a long time. And, I only bought just a little bit of the print. So, fussy cutting the center was the way to go.

cute Judith! So far I have butterflies, sailor dress, eagle and cherries blocks. I tend to make applique blocks, hope that is okay.

Super Red. I like applique blocks. What is your eagle block like. I too found an eagle block I like. It's pieced and applique. Although, this swap isn't too big yet, so, I don't want to double up yet.

I am almost finished designing the blocks and getting them ready for stitching, Judith. I will show after I start stitching the eagles first. They are the flying spread wings type on white w/ blue star print. I think we will have many more ladies sign up. I know I used to hold back and think about one I wasn't sure I wanted to join. But once I saw the cute blocks and nice work, I jumped in. Now I get them done sent and sit back and enjoy the banter on the thread. Much more fun then the hurry up and send I will be late feeling.
