This is the first time I made it so small-21" or so. I made one as a lap quilt for Christmas this past holiday-it went into a grab bag/ dirty pool gift exchange, luckily the preson who ended up with it liked doing sudoku. To make sure it turned out right (1 of each color per row/column/grid and large diagonals) I used one of the answer keys in my suduko book.

Dawn Hendrix 08-21-2010 05:03 AM

Great Job Wendsy!!! I can see the possabilities!

tlrnhi 08-22-2010 10:13 AM

Those who have International addresses, PM your reciever and ask if it's ok to mail ANY rounds that are done early. We know it can take a bit longer to get from overseas to US.

Those who are US, ONLY mail this round early. The rest of the rounds PLEASE mail on the mail dates. If you will be traveling during a mail date, PM your reciever and ask if it is ok to send early.

We don't want tops to be piled up on people with everyone mailing early.

Carsey 08-23-2010 04:58 AM

Yea!!

Leota 08-23-2010 08:35 AM

Wendsy, I get to put the first border on your center :D and I know what I want to do.... I'll wait till you send it to me to get the colors....I can't really tell exactly what the colors are in this picture but I'm anxious to get started....If you want to send it early that is fine with me.

laparshall 08-23-2010 08:47 AM

Thanks, didn't want to be a stalker without asking first. I like what I have seen so far.

Leota 08-24-2010 01:44 PM

Have any of ya'll got your labels completed? I'm needing some inspiration or ideas.

Dawn Hendrix 08-24-2010 04:33 PM

personally I was just going to send around a paper with mine.. so once I get it back I can have a label embroidered with the info.

Leota 08-24-2010 04:54 PM

Not having an embroidery machine, I figured it would be fun to make a label and have everyone sign. I have some idea but not sure how good the ideas are.

wendsy 08-24-2010 05:16 PM

My thought was to send a paper also, my mother has an embroidery machine-nothing fancy, but I'm hoping it'll get the job done.

Dawn Hendrix 08-25-2010 03:52 AM

OO I don't have an embroidery machine...a friend does.. but then I was also thinking about just doing embroidery floss and making one out of that....copy the names they way they are written and then it will look like each person did it... hmmmm my mind is awake this morning! I have 2 other project I am working on.. But I want to push them aside and begin my rr block... maybe tomorrow I will work only on the rr and see how much I can get done.

STAR 08-25-2010 04:40 AM

what a great idea!! I was planning on a piece of paper as I couldn't decide how I wanted my label to look. I have a place 2 blocks away that does custom embroidery and tranfers , like for t-shirts, I may have them do it. but tracing the actual handwriting would be awesome!!

Leota 08-25-2010 05:29 AM

They could sign their names and then all we have to do is trace over with black embroidery. Oh I would set my embroidery floss with hot vinegar water before using it...
Just finished a red-work design for a swap... the blanked color bled and ruined two months work... when I washed the block to remove the template pencil ink (it was pink and some places showed)...now I have to start back at square one for this person's block!

Have you dried it in the dryer? If not you might want to try Oxiclean or Borax- light solutions to get out the bleeding.

chewboo 08-25-2010 12:20 PM

have fun

Leota 08-25-2010 02:27 PM

No I didn't put it in the dryer but I used bleach and the red turned a red-orange color :(
I will try the borax... even if it just takes out the bleed it would be better that what it is now.

Leota 08-25-2010 03:02 PM

IT'S WORKING!!!!:)
There is still just a tiny bit on the worst places so I'm soaking some more...this will be wonderful if it fixes the bleed.

Update .... IT WORKED!!!! All the ugly bleed is gone. The color is even and still more red than orange.

Thank you Thank you Thank you for that wonderful tip on bleeding color removal.

tlrnhi 08-26-2010 09:09 AM

wendsy 08-30-2010 09:08 AM
