QuilterMomma 06-25-2012 01:29 PM

Hey Scrapper, that pig looks like a perfect pattern.

Now that I looked for ideas, I have nine I want to do and that does not include my embroidery machine designs. Hmmmm, guess I have to pick, oh darn. I could make one of everything of my ideas and then whichever I like making more of, will make those. Yeah, that is what I will do.

I know what you mean. I have so many ideas of blocks that I want to make. It took me a while to decide which one to try first.

rwquilts 06-26-2012 08:36 AM

I think there should be a rule..."no more cute block swaps"! I just stumbled across this swap...you guys are baaaaadddd!!! :) I loved the Farm block swap Mariposa hosted last year...made some cute piggies and sheepies and I don't remember what else. I'm canning fruit for another swap...I might could can some more fruit for this one. I will keep an eye on you girls and see how my summer goes. :)

Ronda,
canned fruit sounds great for this swap!

Fraew 06-26-2012 08:49 AM

Hey Ronda!

Fancy finding you here. :). Maybe we need to set up a group so that those of us that travel as a pack can make sure that we all gt to the next swap(s). Or maybe designate a swap watch dog to alert us. :)
None of us have the ability to turn down a cute swap do we?

QuilterMomma 06-26-2012 08:54 AM

No we just can't turn them down, after all we keep pushing each other off the fence, breaking arms from twisting, then send ambulances to take care of each other by using glue and duct tape, we are stuck together.

That's not a bad idea...are you volunteering? :)

Kind of makes a person wonder how we get any blocks at all sewn, huh? LOL! :)

Hehe!!:D I'll be the person that supplies the duct tape.

This is what I'm thinking of for my first set. What do you all think?? Yes or no?
It measures 9.5".

SewExtremeSeams 06-26-2012 09:52 AM

Howdy, from my farm in Washington. Maybe I should give this a shot since I do live on a farm... :D

Is this swap any type of block like pp, applique, embroidery, etc.? It's probably in your info post but I missed it. Just wondering. When I get caught up on my 'other' swaps', I will officially commit... OR, is it that 'someone will commit me?'??? :D RW and Mariposa: no comments, please!:D

Tam...Moo 06-26-2012 10:04 AM

I love your block Ms Grace - it is perfect!

We'd love for you to join the fun.
Yes, any type block: pieced, pp, applique, embroidery....

QuilterMomma 06-26-2012 10:40 AM

Careful Sewextreme, we push people off the fence if you are undecided or Ms. Grace twists arms and such to get you to join, so in my humble wounded opinion, with a bit of mischevious in there, you are committed now since you live in WA by me. That farm needs to be represented.

rwquilts 06-26-2012 11:15 AM

Cute block Ms Grace!

Mariposa 06-27-2012 12:45 PM

SewExtreme~ You're already committed! ;) hehehe......

Ccorazone 07-08-2012 07:31 PM

Count me in.. I love to do machine embroidery and appliqué and have lots of farm related designs

Bugs in a jar

I'm sure kids at the farm will be collecting all sorts of "critters" in canning jars. Here is one from my swap sets.

OK, I want one of your bug jars! Too cute. [some times that phrase seems so trite... they are ALL so cute!]:D

Fraew 07-13-2012 02:40 PM

Bug in a jar is over the top cute! Nicely done.

QuilterMomma 07-13-2012 03:03 PM

i think I need to have that bug in a jar as well. He is as cute as a bug. :D 5:00 can get here fast enough for me today. Tired of work and want to sew and play like youladies are getting to. I found a barn and tractor I think i need to do along with my cow. Also got a pig that is pretty darn cute just have to find the right fabric to make him/her. Well, back to work for the last hour.

Now these are some real country farm blocks. Great job girl. Where did you find those center blocks? Have not seen something like that for awhile.

QuilterMomma 07-19-2012 08:49 AM

Ok, I just had to go and look, now I so want to order some of those goodies. But what to do with them once I make them. I can't start another project, my UFOs aren't done. Oh such agony. :hunf::mad: Well, Ms. Grace just better make sure I get some of those bugs so I don't miss out.:o

kristen0112 07-19-2012 03:59 PM

I was looking on line for a different paper peiced pattern and found this site. There are a lot of cute farm animals on it. http://sewhooked.com/free-quilt-patterns/

Trying to decide if this will work for me. I don't have anymore of this fabric so will need to pick something else out. My hand applique is not real good but here is a possible addition to our quilts.

Ms Grace 07-24-2012 04:33 AM

The piggy is cute. Please make sure that any embellishments are sent in a seperate baggie attached to the quilt block.

QuilterMomma 07-24-2012 11:06 AM

Oh, I know for sure, cause that is how I prefer, I just set the button on to photo so you could see the effect of the eye I was going to choose. It is a pain in somewhere to have to try and load the quilt with embellishments, then to use a pattern which may hit one, no fun for a longarmer. No worries there. Just seeing if this was a pig to be used.
