Thank you!! He'll be hard to part with but I had so much fun making him for one of you'all. He's wrapped in tissue paper so he doesn't get dusty while he waits to be shipped...

Rumbols 07-20-2018 09:31 AM

Teen, your little guy is so cute.

Linny 07-20-2018 09:44 AM

Teen, I went back to your comment yesterday, and the fact that you created him from a photograph is even more amazing. Also hit a few sites showing more farm animals. They're so cute.

Teen 07-20-2018 10:01 AM

Thank you, Donna & Linny..... Linny...isn't that quilt pattern the cutest? I want to do the duck next...also, from a photograph. I should just break down and buy the pattern...it would be easier. Lol...

Linny 07-20-2018 12:38 PM

I agree. It probably would be easier to buy the pattern, but you certainly were up to the challenge of doing it on your own.

ube quilting 07-21-2018 01:51 PM

Your project turned out great, Teen. This would be a happy addition to my sewing room, for sure.

peace

ube quilting 07-21-2018 01:52 PM

Teen is done and I haven't even found a pattern yet.

Teen 07-21-2018 06:12 PM

Thanks, Ube! I started on the duck pattern from this collection. Lol!! These critters are so addicting. The duck will go to a friend. At some point, I'll make me a wall hanging to keep. :D

Annaquilts 07-22-2018 01:23 PM

Teen I like all the characters from that pattern but Wilbur is by far my favorite. Will you share pictures of the duck you are making for your friend?

Rhonda 07-23-2018 11:13 PM

Sign up List

This is as always just for fun to see who all is interested. It in no way obligates you to have a wall hanging ready to swap. It is only to see who is planning to play along.

At or about the middle of the last month I will post a Ready to Mail list and that will be the one to be on. If you are not on the Ready to Mail list you will not get an address to send. and of course then you won't get one in return.

So
Sign up now -- but remember the Ready to Mail list is the Have to Do List!!

I also want to welcome Teen to the swap!! We hope you have a great time with us!

I used to do a swap where everyone got to vote on what item they wanted. I'm glad this one isn't a vote swap. LOL I think everyone is going to want Teen's Wilbur!! He is soooooo cute!!

What a way to make an impression Teen!!! You are definitely a great addition to the group!

Now we have to all sit and drool and wonder for the next 3 months who is going to actually get Wilbur!!

R-sea 07-25-2018 04:01 AM

I have found a wall hanging with cats on it . Who likes cats ? If you don't , let me know and if I get you , I will send something else

Rumbols 07-25-2018 05:40 AM

I've been wanting to do this guy forever....I just love him and thought this swap is the perfect reason to make him. Still need to do the face detail and thinking about adding a butterfly. I have one embellishment I'll add when completed but I think he is so cute.... Anywhoo....hope, whoever receives him, will like him as much as me. He makes me smile so I'll be making him for my craft room, too.

he's adorable

Teen 07-25-2018 07:42 AM

Thank you, Rhonda & Nancy..... Rhonda....I drooled over the creations in your last swap and I wasn't able to participate. Lol.

Anna....yes, I'll share pic of duck when done.

R-Sea....love cats.... that will be a fun WH to work on. Create away!! Can't wait to see your creation.

I just uploaded some pictures of what I was doing a few weeks ago. My DH is now convinced that investing in a generator is a good idea. Three plus days with power again.

A windstorm broke a tree which broke the utility pole which pulled the electric meter right off the house. Fortunately, we have insurance through the electric company that completely paid for the damage. It is so worth having this type of coverage when you live in the woods like I do. Homeowners insurance might not have covered it and there would still be a deductible to pay.

So for $72 a year, I am fully covered for any electrical repairs on the outside of the house. A lot of people don't realize the power company is only responsible to the point they call the knob and the homeowner is responsible from the knob to the house. I think it is money well spent.

There were five trucks and about 12 great linemen that got us up and running. The pole took a few hours. Attaching the meter back to the house took five and a half hours. They had to remove and inspect the circuit box too.

A great bunch of men and I appreciate them so much.

The greens in your woods are so peaceful. Nice you were able to get power back so efficiently.

Teen 07-26-2018 08:11 PM

It's gorgeous around your home, Ube. I bet the sound of your meter getting ripped off your house was a bit scary. Thank goodness all is well again and you had a rockin team of professionals helping....very cool that it cost zero money with your insurance. Cheap enough coverage and the alternative would have been awful.

ube quilting 07-27-2018 01:37 AM

The team manager said it would have been about $2400 without the insurance. I feel lucky.

Teen 07-27-2018 09:49 AM

You did good, Ube... That's a lot of money. What a blessing...

if you are interested, I posted a picture of the duck wall hanging I finished binding this morning.

It's adorable, Teen, another winner.

Armylady2012 07-27-2018 06:46 PM

Teen it is so adorable very colorful

Annaquilts 08-15-2018 01:20 PM

I love how this swap has a really long time to design and work on a wall hanging. I am actually working on several possibilities, one is creme and red and the other blue and white. Not sure which I will enter. It is super hot here and I have been hiding in the studio whenever I can.

Annaquilts 08-15-2018 01:20 PM

Teen the duck wall hanging is adorable!

Teen 08-15-2018 02:42 PM

Thank you, all, or the lovely comments on my duck WH. He was fun to make..

Annaquilts....so fun to have the time to play in our studios and just create. Both color combos work for my house..*wink* Have fun and share when you can...

I've been so involved in doing my whole cloth quilts that I haven't been on here much except to ask for help! As usual, I received some awesome advice, and life has been going swimmingly in all directions!

Teen - what a gorgeous wallhanging - great job on that, and adorable!

Ube -wow, what a job at your house! Yes, insurance is always great to have when you need it (and something to complain about when you keep forking out money, and never using it!!!)

I bought some really neat embroidery designs, and decided to use one for this WH swap. Here's the design, haven't a clue as to how to finish it off ... input is appreciated!!!!

Thank you, Marionsquilts.....and, wow.....that embroidery is gorgeous!! There might be some cool ideas for on-point blocks that may inspire you....nothing too flashy that would distract from the beautiful center design... I've seen your whole cloth quilts and you do amazing work...

jaba 08-20-2018 04:53 PM

Love the Celtic Owl, it's beautiful however you finish it!!!!

jaba 08-20-2018 04:56 PM

Found out today that the tumor is just not wanting to go away. About 5% still there so radiation and chemo for another 5 days. That's okay, want it gone for sure. Really cold here tonight so I'm really wanting to go to Florida. Had to turn the heat back on in the house.....

Teen 08-20-2018 05:10 PM

Jaba....I'm so sorry you are going thru this....just 5 more days....hang in there.

Armylady2012 08-22-2018 05:54 AM

Marion love the owl

Jaba I am sorry that you are still having to deal with this, Hang in there and my prayers are with you.

I just love your embroidered Owl. It is perfect to my eyes with one round of squares.

Linny 08-22-2018 05:45 PM

Jaba, You are in my thoughts and prayers often. Your attitude says so much about you. Hope your doing great real soon.

Teen 08-22-2018 06:38 PM

It's a beautiful finish, Marion....I like it with just the one border of squares.....

skaduzy 08-25-2018 01:19 PM

Marion, You can tell I am so so behind in checking email....just saw what you did do with the design and I love it!

skaduzy 08-25-2018 01:23 PM

Jaba, you are in my thoughts and prayers...

Rumbols 08-26-2018 12:32 PM

Marion, your owl is awesome. I love it.

I have been working on my applique quilt and have the floppy done. Starting to quilt it. Let me tell you hand embroidery on fusible web fused pieces was a nightmare. I went thru 5 needles before I got wise (LOL) and started using a very heavy needle and I still broke three of those. But I got it done. Now hope my quilting does it justice.

Teen 08-26-2018 02:47 PM

Rumbols...I'm looking forward to seeing your applique quilt. My MIL experienced the same thing when doing just embroidery on fused fabric. She said..never again....
