Queenbarbiej.........how did you make your quilt?

I did it on the diagonal. I started off making a bunch of four patches. I used setting triangles on the ends. I made sure that the triangles where on the straight of grain so that the won't stretch. I have a bad habit to pull on the fabric a little and my edges get distorted when on the bias.

Did you calculate how many 2.5's you used in your quilt? Just curious. I am considering being a copy cat and using your idea. It would be nice to use up some of my squares from 2019. I used nearly all from 2018 but I keep adding more to to my bag when I cut my scraps from finished projects in to 2.5's or at least 2.5 strips.

I used roughly 1616. I have enough left for 2 pillow fronts. Received a package yesterday.

Just to clarify how many squares I use, most of you ladies were extra generous with the birthday candies. I received more than 50 candies from several of you ladies. So I ended up with about 75 to 90 birthday candies left. I might just take the rest of the birthday candies and make a checkerboard quilt along with some of my own candies.
