Oh, I just love to hear all of the chatter on our thread! When it gets quiet, I get... lonely for my birthday buddies. I haven't touched my machine in 9 days. But Saturday is a quilt work day with my guild and then it is only 6 days after that my guild retreat starts. Three days of humming machines and the "whish" of rotary cutters brings joy to my heart. Let's see what I can finish on retreat.

Have fun at the retreat! "Life" has been keeping me from my machine as well ... although today was worth it. Escaped for a day in Shipshewana with a friend. Bought too much fun fabric! Great sale at Lollys -- all clearance fabric was $5 a yard, very good quality.

I plan to mail my packages out by Monday. Really hopefully by tomorrow.

If anyone cares, Baseball season officially starts in my area today. Oh course it’s scheduled to rain and thunder. Weather man says it’s 50/50 on game time. He seems to get real wishy washy on activities events which bring crowds and money for the city. We are currently clouding up, goodbye sunshine.

Happy Lab, opening day is today here, too :) Our local Brewers are playing the Cardinals. We have a retractable roof, so we're good to go regardless of weather.

I'm not a huge baseball fan, but always love when a home team does well. Let's hope the season starts out that way.

On a sewing related note, I think I found the pattern I am going to use all my candies on.

It's a scrappy Double Irish Chain by Jessie Fincham (link listed below)
I like how the scrappy is controlled by the pink. I also like how the center isn't necessarily 2.5" squares. She has it listed in bigger blocks for the center so the piecing should flow faster for me. I'm not the best piecer, so that is a bonus ;)

What do you folks think. Go completely scrappy, or do a controlled? I think I could be talked into either.....

That is a beautiful quilt! I vote for controlled.
