Incorrecto. I sent but haven't received. The last swap package I got was the beautiful package from the home decor swap with a runner and placemats.

Elisabrat 05-03-2013 04:58 AM

We are all square! we have due to physical disabilities one slower mail the rest have been mailed so I want to thank every single one of you ladies. I am so happy that everyone played the swap game and that I think all of you will be pleased with your new goodies.

I think Dabbler that was so very sweet of you to include little things for the little ones. What a super idea and yes I need those flowers wouldn't they make great fractured quilts??? wow they are pretty.

I am waiting to see an ugly runner posted and I think.. it ain't going to happen at all! I love the variety of choices seeing how one theme is interpreted a dozen ways.. all different from the others. I can't wait to see the last few pics and thanks girls this was a FUN swap. I hope if your in the summer one we can blow them away with our color creativity. Your the resident experts!!

Finally internet...Mailed mine but had not received before we left on vacation.. If whoever mailed to me wants to post it would be perfect, I'll get to see what's waiting for me. Won't be home for a couple more weeks. Had a great time in Washington, Oregon is beautiful and I got to meet MaryToddliz. Was wonderful, she and her grand daughter had a B-day party for me. Now on the road again to my born in state of sunny California...

It's from a kit that I purchased a couple of years ago on a shop hop - I was lucky enough to find the focus fabric in an online search - the shop didn't have a lot left. I'll send you a pm this weekend with the information.

Nancy in Louisiana 05-03-2013 07:45 AM

Received the most beautiful topper from Mariposa -- it's not going on a table -- it's going on my wall!!! Will post picture as soon as I get back to "real" computer.

tlambing I love the runner you made for jaba - the colors are awesome.

on another not Vanogay asked for the pattern for the runner I made jsikes - the fabric is Botanica by Color Principle for Henry Glass & Co. - pattern 7431; I found it at Quilters Common site after much searching; hope that helps. The quilt shop I purchased my kit from a few years ago has been closed for some time.

JuanitaBean 05-03-2013 07:41 PM

I would like to save this Table topper pattern can someone help me PLEASE

jaba 05-03-2013 08:30 PM

juanitabean, right click on the post number and it will save it to your downloads file on your computer. Teresa it looks just fabulous, love the colors! You must really get some inspiration from those Tahoe weekends. Was through your town yesterday and totally spaced out you lived there. I would have called and had you tell me your secret  Thanks so much for the runner, I'm excited to see it and thanks for posting for me.

JuanitaBean 05-03-2013 08:47 PM

Thank you jaba got it

nancia 05-03-2013 09:58 PM

well, i'm going to break the omerta! brat, you can be upset with me if you want, but i think it's unfair for dusty'smomma to chain herself, all day, every day, to the mailbox waiting for a squishy that is not quite complete. get on with your life, gurl! i can guarantee you will not be forgotten! how could i forget sweet little ole you? the medication the dr gave me for my arm seems to be having some effect to the good. i have borders to neaten up, then sandwich, some chips and a coke... oh, sorry, that's lunch....sandwich quilt and bind and it will be in the mail. this is the annual festive weekend with dinner out tomorrow and the symphony on sunday, so expect maybe send it out tues or wednesday. sorry to keep you waiting! dh is trying to persuade me to give it to him. perhaps edition 2.
i feel guilty saying this, but i rec'd a beautiful table runner today from tracibug! i will post pics soon. lovely tropical leaves and a stunning red batik backing. yummy and beautifully made! and a whimsical and very useful ( a rare combo) mug rug. which means i must get on the stick and make hers! thanks, traci!

Mariposa made me this gorgeous table mat. Y'all can just eat your hearts out because it is fantastic. Hibiscus is my favorite flower. It reminds me of my two trips to Hawaii, hummingbirds, and spring. Her fabric choices are luscious, and the stitches on the applique make me so jealous of her talent. The back is just as beautiful at the front, colors very dramatic and play together very well. I plan on hanging it on my bedroom wall, which is orange . I'm very proud and honored to be the new owner. If those fabrics were in my stash, I don't think I could ever cut into them. lol. Thank you very much Rhonda.

Elisabrat 05-05-2013 12:29 AM

Wow those are beautiful! what a fun swap and you all have been so fun to play with that if your not signed up for the summer runner swap reconsider today is the last day to sign up! Elisabrat 05-06-2013 09:36 PM

its coming patience sugar pie patience.. I know who sent it so it should be there or close to it this week. She is a wonderful partner and apologies greatly for the small delay. don't be mad I think it will be worth it in the end :) and its not Nancia!

Dustysmomma I haven't forgotten you. I am stuck without my own computer for almost a week. I borrowed the hubbies and his ended up with 80 Trojan virus's attacking the computer. self replicating virus trouble. In fact when I signed in to the quilting board the new virus attacking software the computer guy put on.. sad another Trojan was trying to attck. so.. worried it might be something between google and the qb as that is the only place I went .. to google to get on the quilting board. hum...

everyone is already so excited in the other runner swap. hope to see those who couldn't sign up pop in and say hi we will miss you if you don't!

It's all good. Someone knows what's going on, and I know I'll get one.

I'm a little on the procrastination side right now myself. I'm afraid depression is rearing its head a bit and slowing me down again.

Elisabrat 05-08-2013 05:36 AM

Dustysmomma, sometimes we all have to have slow down moments you know? and yeah we get down but the upside is when you come back up for air.. its a wonderous thing. I am sorry life is holding you back with heavy thoughts. shoot that is not fun. You are again, not alone. so many of us do this.

Jaba and I were talking and we both realize we spend a lot of our time.. alone. we quilt.. we play with fabric but its alone time. We forget how to spend real time with a lot of others. See lots of quilters are home not working.. alone in their free time with fabric. But when we come out of this alone time we have to readjust to people.. odd concept for those of you who are with them all day I know but ... its not a bad thing its just a lot of introspective time. Maybe just maybe this is a good thing or a not so good thing. It works for me .. I love both. I have had this great experience with Jaba (Jan) here. We do the above spend time together, alone, we eat meals together we laugh we are quiet with each other and its like.. home. Can't think of a better way to describe it it has been like having a sister here.. we do things laugh get goofy we are quiet, she is helping out, me cooking she is doing dishes (kiss kiss girl) and me crashing on the couch and she just quietly wanders to her sewing machine and sews for a bit while I do.. then back to fun again. I will miss her so dearly as she is heading home today. A long trip for her. A special memory for both of us.

nancia 05-08-2013 06:05 AM

so glad your visit went well, ladies! somedays i think a road trip is in order and we'd just head out across country and end up at brat's house in the woods, and we'd pitch tents ( or have them pitched for us. feminism lost it's thrill somewhere around 55) and we'd use brat's bathroom, and she could cook for us, and do our laundry while we sew. won't that be soooo much fun , brat? no. more seriously, we would all help do all the stuff, many hands make light work, and we'd call back the burritos boys! what fun!!!

Dustysmomma, I'm with 'Brat about hanging in there and don't let life get you down. One day at a time, deep breaths and give yourself some quiet time to just relax. If I can ever do anything from far away, let me know. As to this reunion of 'quilting gals ..Jaba, Brat etc.) I want to see pictures. It is so much nicer to put a face to the names. I know what the inside of allof you is like and that is wonderful and kind but I want to see the outside, too!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day...quilting or otherwise. Just to cheer you all up...my first daffs are finally blooming.

Vanogay 05-08-2013 12:25 PM

pretty, pretty flowers. I remember living in Idaho, but I really don't remember having flowers - just snow. We lived there in 1981-1982 and moved from there to San Jose California. Real change in the climate, but with working, did not have much in the way of flowers there either. Now, it's different - no working, but no real interest in much gardening. Would rather sew, but do get out and try to take care of the garden except the weeds win more days!!

nancia 05-08-2013 12:44 PM

i have an almost foolproof gardening method. plant only no-care bushes-like knock out roses, or crabapple trees, and only perennial flowers. bury a soaker hose in a zigzag just under the soil. cover everything with mulch. give yourself an easy to get to faucet control and you are good to go for years. every few years you may have to replace the soaker hose, but they are cheap and the channel is already there. pay someone to dig up the bulbs every couple of years-- they can replace the soaker while they're there. have pots with the more fragile annuals and have them next to your door. that makes them very easy to water. isn't this fun!!

sikesjj 05-08-2013 01:33 PM

DM hang in there we have all been there at some point and time in our life! I joined the gym to make myself get out and it makes me feel better, exercise make more endorphins, endorphins makes happy people so it helps my family also.

We could all get together at my house here in Oklahoma, we will kick my husband and the kids off to Grandma's house. My dining room table will hold six people an their machines. And I love to cook and bake and I only know how to cook for a army :)

nancia 05-08-2013 03:09 PM

i'm in! i'll be there in august! i'm all for meeting your kids, too!

Elisabrat 05-08-2013 05:14 PM

Hey this could be like a round robin, first we go to sikesjj's then we go to.. and just go on visiting all year long. so much quilting would never get done. SIKESJJ you have THAT BIG OF A DINNER TABLE? OMG. mine holds one and almost room enough for cutting fabric. key word. almost. wow!

jaba 05-08-2013 06:29 PM

after Oklahoma you might as well come to Wyoming, lots of room at my house. That sounds so good would be fun for sure. Thanks for dinner to go brat, ribs just as good nuked tonight! Love that easy part and your still cooking.

nancia 05-08-2013 07:55 PM

well, i have one table and that's my cutting table. but i have lots of floor--if you clear everything off. maybe you should drop me off at the next train station with trains heading east. should be most of them from brat's! or i could get on a boat heading west by northwest, or southwest and just take the long way around and visit our friends in australia and assorted areas down under, and then off to the emerald isles-- ladies-- this could be our grande world tour!!!

Elisabrat 05-09-2013 01:05 AM

best come now.. we may be moving soon. maybe even to Wyoming soon. I need help packing. Sigh. Today was a long day. I made a big pot of homemade chicken soup. With cheese/garlic matzo balls. yum. then I spent the next hour cutting flank steak for terriyaki lunch tomorrow. I forgot to do it when it was partially frozen. about 10 times easier. grrrr. and its a thank you for fixing my computer so its not even for me. I also forgot when I said lunch on me thank you that I have dialysis. I will fly home, have fifteen minutes to cook it. great. so I fixed the rice and veggies tonight AFTEr dinner and hope that I can nuke those and fry at the same time. wish me luck. I have to do it. big big mouth :)

Miss you Jaba.

DustysMomma 05-09-2013 03:48 AM

Ooh, teriyaki is one of my favorites! Chicken, steak, doesn't matter which. Where's mine?! :)

I go back to the ENT about my ringing ear today at 2:40. My other ear has been hurting some the last week or so. The tube being put in has helped my hearing feel more normal, and when my allergies aren't in full swing, the ringing is down I'd say around 75%, to where it sometimes stops. The other ear that's been hurting some the last week feels muffled now that the other one's hearing is improved. He may end up having to put a tube in it too. I guess we'll find out this afternoon.

Elisabrat 05-09-2013 04:30 AM

i will cross my fingers you dont need to do that dustysmomma I know how bad you felt right after.. maybe its fixable! or well I guess a tube is fixing it isnt it? 75 percent is way better than zero. so I wish you well girl.

Elisabrat 05-09-2013 02:27 PM

I say that would inspire me to WAKE UP NOW lol that is colorful. what are you making girl?

I made killer stir fry it was done at 12:01 he got here at 12:03 phew yeah I was planning it this way no trouble at all. He said over and over this is SO good whats in it? told him he says can you write that down.. just told you your 27 cant you remember? LMAO I said its in here.. been cooking it for years, my first hubbys family was Japanese.. that teriryaki was his momma's recipe. she showed me been making it since. not hard just do it. He says his wife cant cook at all and he will gladly fix my computer ANYtime for that.. felt nice. after he walked out I crawled to the couch lights out been good to know you did not even clean a thing up. wayyyy too tired for that. its clean now phew. hate messes. then the x office girl came by right in my nap time (oh noooooo Mr. Bill!!) and I had her in. Told her about us reality moving probably asap and we have her grandfathers gorgeous sideboard in our shed. She says well that was my good news for you.. I want to give it to you. I said you told me you were going to put it up for consignment she says I want someone who appreciates it to have it. Gulp. BIG TIME. So I now have a huge three tear 1880's sideboard its all mine. and I might have to move in two weeks, no big truck to do it in oh dear Lord. This girl has not a pot to... or a window literally she lives in a one room trailer. Offered to let us sleep there weather is getting warm she can camp come on its fine.. kid you not. Those with the least sometimes humble you the most. I gave her the chicken soup I made last night knowing Steve cant even eat that tonigt. And some cheese from my visit with Jaba. She was so thankful she lives on nothing its apparent. she has a horse, a dog five puppies three cats chickens. her money she gets from cleaning pine needles? goes to feed them. Sigh. its a tight tight world we are in. Be thankful tonight for your roof, your table your warm bed for worries maybe not so big as someone right next to you that you cant see... we are all so lucky. I still believe I am so fortunate. I have friends with hearts of gold. Now that my dear ladies is lucky.
