Another Woman's Treasure Swap v2.0! Sign up through Sept 30th!

Another Woman's Treasure Swap!
</SPAN>
We all have that pile of fabric that we're not going to do anything with. Like they say, one woman's trash is another woman's treasure!! Why not send it on to someone else, and freshen your stash? This is our second swap, and let the fun begin!

This is a fabric swap for medium flat rate boxes (MFRB) chock full of goodies! Fabric should be 100% cotton used for quilting. If you have books, buttons, thread, notions, or other goodies, those are fair game too, but the bulk of the box should be fabric. Remember, these are things you're ready to part with and get something awesome in return! Yardage, scraps, charms, jelly rolls, FQ, F8, etc!
</SPAN>
Medium flat rate boxes ship for about $12, and you can fit a LOT of fabric in them. And remember, as long as you can shut it, it ships! Stuff that baby full!</SPAN>

Swap rules: </SPAN>

Any number is welcome. If we only get a few takers, we'll still do the swap!

You will receive one medium flat rate box for every one MFRB you send out. Partners will be chosen randomly by yours truly. You will be sending your box to the same person who will be receiving yours. Please stuff your box FULL! We want only happy swappers! </SPAN>

There are two different types of medium flat rate boxes- a smaller one that opens at the top, and a larger one that opens at one end. You can use whichever MFRB you can find, but know that if you send the larger one, you may receive a smaller one. (The size difference is neglible, really.)

As always, please only send out the same quality you would want to receive.</SPAN>

Please take a picture of the contents of the box you send out in case your partner cannot post pictures. And please post pictures of your box so we can all lust over the new additions to your stash!</SPAN>

This swap has been approved by PatriceJ.</SPAN>

Please notify frenchfryqueen as soon as possible if you feel you cannot complete your obligation. Please don’t sign up if you don’t think you can send out a medium flat rate box in the time allotted. If problems arise, COMMUNICATION IS KEY!! Unfortunately, anyone who did not fulfill their obligations in any of my previous swaps is not eligible to play.

****Please make sure to read the general rules that apply to all swaps here at the Quilting Board: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-20154-1.htm ****</SPAN>

Participants should send frenchfryqueen a PM to provide tracking info and verify their box has been sent. </SPAN>

Participants are required to ensure packages will not arrive “postage due.”</SPAN>

Any and all other fees, such as import duties, taxes, etc imposed by the recipient’s government are the sole responsibility of the recipient. </SPAN>

Absent legitimate and reported mitigating circumstances, participants who have not fulfilled their obligation to ship by October 31st shall be deemed “late” and risk receiving Negative [Swap] Feedback.</SPAN>

Please keep in touch with frenchfryqueen as required. Please let her know right away if something happens that will interfere with your ability to complete your project on time.</SPAN>

You are participating at your own risk-- please do not publicly complain about the quality of your received box. If you have a legitimate complaint, please PM me. Communication is key!

Please PM FRENCHFRYQUEEN with the following information by September 30th. She will then match up names and get them returned to you by October 5th. You will have until October 31st to mail your box. You must provide tracking information to me with a note that your box has been sent.
</SPAN>
Board Name:</SPAN>
Real Name:</SPAN>
Address:</SPAN>
Email:</SPAN>
Phone #: (this will NOT be given to your partner, this is for my use only in the event that a problem should arise) </SPAN>
Do you have any allergies:</SPAN>
Do you have any allergens (cats, dogs, smoker):</SPAN>
Can you ship internationally?</SPAN>
Do you have the ability to post pictures?</SPAN>

Any preferences (colors, themes, etc) can be discussed on the board or with your partner, but remember not everyone has the means to fulfill all requests.

Everyone jump in!!</SPAN>

Also, some of you have mentioned doing themed holiday boxes.. we'll try and find the perfect partner for you. Post about it in the public thread, and the first swapper to PM me will have dibs on it.

You can do multiple boxes as well.. just let me know in your signup PM if you'd like to do more than one.

Enjoy!

DustysMomma 09-01-2013 08:24 AM

(Doing the happy dance....) Woohoo! I was first!

Grandma Di 09-01-2013 12:00 PM

I'm in again. I had so much fun the last time. Will PM now.

moonrise 09-02-2013 12:21 AM

Would it be possible to match me up with somebody who'd like to swap scraps? My scrap bins (plural  ) are literally overflowing. I like making scrappy quilts, though, so perhaps there's somebody out there like me who'd like some "new" scraps to play with. I can use anything
2-1/2" square and up, as well as 1" or wider strips ... and can send the same in return. :)

homecaregiver 09-02-2013 04:52 AM

I am in again. PM sent to frenchfryqueen. Thanks for hosting this swap, I loved the first one.

cjr 09-02-2013 09:59 AM

I would like to join this swap. Sometimes I get tired of using the same fabrics over & over. sending PM

mom-6 09-02-2013 11:53 AM

Would anyone be interested in trading home decor fabrics (think totes)? The only fabrics I have that I might be interested in passing along are ones for totes and linings. Mostly upholstery/ tapestry type fabrics. A few are ones I use for linings.

SulaBug 09-02-2013 01:00 PM

HOW EXCITING!! :D I just signed up & can hardly wait for my partner's name. I hope that I can make her really HAPPY!!
:D :D :D :D

paulswalia 09-03-2013 04:04 AM

I'm in for swap # 2. Really enjoyed the first one. Anyone out there internationally want to play? I'd be interested in swapping with someone from another country. Maybe we can swap things that represent our homes - I live in Vermont, USA and would be able to send some "Vermonty" fabric.

Jamimclaugh 09-03-2013 03:02 PM

I'm in and if anyone has a christmas box or little firl fabrics send it my way!

frenchfryqueen 09-04-2013 03:12 PM

We've already got a good group started! Looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with this round.

Quercus Rubra 09-04-2013 04:19 PM

Hummmm ... Let me see if I can swing this again.... as I had a great trade with my partner last time. I know that I could put in a bag of close to 100 men's ties in it if someone was interested (they are a kinds of fabrics, cotton, silk, wool). Just thought I'd put that out there... 'cause you just never know. I'm pretty sure that I'm gong to able to play, just want to double check a couple of things first. Well it's been a LONG day& I have a headache.... so I'm off & running.

If we don't get someone who can swap a whole box with you, I can help you a bit. I'm down to a single Walmart bag though, so I'd have to fill it with other things. I could even put in some I don't have enough for a project of that I've been holding anyway. Just let me know! :)

I can be matched with Moonrise as I have an overabundance of scraps, both squares of various sizes and strips. Of course, getting equal in return doesn't solve my problem, does it?

moonrise 09-05-2013 03:26 AM

Either one of you will be great! :) I just wanted to run it by the hostess and everyone before officially signing up, because I'd feel bad if someone sent me yardage and I sent them scraps. LOL!

Ms. FrenchFry, is this okay to do? If so, I'll send my PM to sign up ASAP. :D

frenchfryqueen 09-05-2013 04:32 AM

Absolutely! I have no problems with it. I'll make a note to match moonrise with paulswalia. Moonrise- if none of your info has changed, you don't have to resend it, as I still have it from the last swap. But please still send me a PM saying you'd like to play to make it "official". :)

I have those items. Maybe we'll get to swap with each other. I love novelty prints, and like spring flowers and the orangey/peachy colors. If you don't have these, it's ok. Marcia

sewmany 09-05-2013 04:40 PM

I like to jointhis swap. Pm on the way.

cjr 09-06-2013 09:10 AM

I have started filling my send out box. About 2yds red bandana print. Another 1-2 yards of a print I know I will never use. As I go through stash or work on a project I will continue adding to it.

Jamimclaugh 09-06-2013 03:40 PM

Sounds good! :) I can def see what I have. I'm a newer quilter so may stash isn't huge, but I know I have flowers!

I wouldn't say my stash is huge either, but the man would not agree, lol. Dusty asks me every time I open the closet if I think i have enough fabric. You all know the answer to that! He did ask me the other night though if the man knew just how much fabric I have. Honestly, I don't know. The space I allotted for my stash is full though, and I've got nowhere left to expand to! This is why I joined the fabric moratorium, even though we're all just a bunch of enablers over there. :D It's slowed me down anyway and makes me think twice about buying just because I like it.

Jamimclaugh 09-08-2013 06:24 AM

Hahaha so true! Although I do buy each fabric (well 90% ;))with a quilt or project in mind. Problem is can I get to all those project to before I see another? Lol.

Quercus Rubra 09-08-2013 08:35 AM

Well a decision was made by my friend today and here is the results.....

Sign me up for 2 Boxes!! That's right that 2 boxes.

So I guess I need to send my pm now....

Tricia

TwinRiverFarm 09-08-2013 10:54 AM

This sounds like a LOT of fun! I'm sending my PM in. Scraps are just fine for me, also. I can even accomodate needs for specific colors or square sizes (from 1.5" to 6" - there are bags of each around this place!)

I'm about 12 projects deep right now because I keep buying things for projects & then either have swaps or other things to do first. Then I either put them off for one reason or another or sign up for another swap. I bought fabric to make a quilt for us, and a throw blanket for my best friend. I just can't decide on a design for either of them. It's easy to procrastinate and pile up projects, and fabric, when you can't decide what exactly you want to do.

frenchfryqueen 09-10-2013 04:22 AM

I've already got my box packed, and have even more that I either need to stuff in it or wait for Swap #3. lol!

Count me in for a box. I look forward to this swap. Will PM the frenchfryqueen today.... Hugs to all

Grandma Di 09-10-2013 09:14 AM

Going to start stuffing my box today. My Sis brought over 3 more tubs of my mothers stash. In the first box I found several blocks that she had done. I can't wait to put them in a memory quilt. what a wonderful surprise. I haven't opened the other two bins yet.

jojo4 09-10-2013 11:31 AM

I'd like to join this time with 2 boxes. One box packed and one in the works. I was too involved last time to join in the fun.

No color preferences, prefer no Christmas or holiday fabrics. Am alergic to smoke and perfumes. Dog and cats are OK.

frenchfryqueen 09-12-2013 06:32 AM

Thanks to a box that came in the mail yesterday, I have a couple new pieces to add to my box! Whoo hoo!

sewnsew 09-15-2013 04:35 AM

Count me in for 2 boxes. Sending you a PM. Got lots of Christmas/holiday fabric if anyone is looking for that in their swap.

frenchfryqueen 09-16-2013 04:24 AM

I actually had to break into my swap box to swipe fabric I needed for my Boom Swap. I have not touched that fabric in about two years, and suddenly I needed it! lol

luvstoquilt 09-16-2013 01:53 PM

Oh Grandma Di I wish I was close enough to get in those boxes of your mother's fabric with you! I Love LOVE vintage!!!

moonrise 09-16-2013 05:13 PM

Okay, I went through my scraps, and pulled out enough to fill 3 boxes. :D Two of the boxes contain all scraps (lots of strips), and one box contains about 2/3 scraps and the rest is yardage. I saw everything from 30's repro fabrics to batiks to you-name-it! I tried to leave out anything smaller than a couple of inches square or strips less than 1" wide (nearly all are 1-1/2" or more). :)

So ... if there are more people who want to swap scraps, I can do up to 3 boxes (paulswalia is already my partner for one of them). They're packed up and ready to ship. BOY, are they full, and they're all the larger medium boxes!

Here's a quilt I made with my scrap strips awhile back. I'd been saving them to make another one, but I just don't have time at the moment. By the time I do get to it, I'm sure my scrap pile will be huge again. But this can give a general idea of the types of scraps I'm sending. Pretty much everything but the kitchen sink! :)

madbury 09-16-2013 05:41 PM

Great scrappy quilt! I might be joining this swap but need time to go through the stash first.

paulswalia 09-17-2013 03:33 AM

Oh Boy, Moonrise.......I'm really ready now - looks like the sky's the limit!!! I've been tossing things in the box almost every day when I find something that I wonder "what was I thinking?" about.

papagrandma12 09-17-2013 03:52 AM

Count me in. Love the idea of doing this. Will start my box today.

papagrandma12 09-17-2013 01:41 PM

Got my box ready. Variety of fabric. At least 1/2 yd. to 1 yd. I didn't include any holiday fabric, nor scraps. Prefer receiving no holiday or scraps. Put in a very small amount of notions. I'm a non smoker and have no pets. Can't wait to find out who my partner is.
