Another Woman's Treasure Swap v3.0! Sign up through Jan. 1st.

Another Woman's Treasure Swap!

This is our third swap! What better way to shake off the post-Christmas dreariness than with a box chock full of new-to-you fabric? :D

We all have that pile of fabric that we're not going to do anything with. Like they say, one woman's trash is another woman's treasure!! Why not send it on to someone else, and freshen your stash?

This is a fabric swap for medium flat rate boxes (MFRB) chock full of goodies! Fabric should be 100% cotton used for quilting. If you have books, buttons, thread, notions, or other goodies, those are fair game too, but the bulk of the box should be fabric. Remember, these are things you're ready to part with and get something awesome in return! Yardage, scraps, charms, jelly rolls, FQ, F8, etc!

Medium flat rate boxes ship for about $12, and you can fit a LOT of fabric in them. And remember, as long as you can shut it, it ships! Stuff that baby full!

Swap rules:

Any number is welcome. If we only get a few takers, we'll still do the swap!

You will receive one medium flat rate box for every one MFRB you send out. Partners will be chosen randomly by yours truly. You will be sending your box to the same person who will be receiving yours. Please stuff your box FULL! We want only happy swappers!

There are two different types of medium flat rate boxes- a smaller one that opens at the top, and a larger one that opens at one end. You can use whichever MFRB you can find, but know that if you send the larger one, you may receive a smaller one. (The size difference is neglible, really.)

As always, please only send out the same quality you would want to receive.

Please take a picture of the contents of the box you send out in case your partner cannot post pictures. And please post pictures of your box so we can all lust over the new additions to your stash!

This swap has been approved by PatriceJ.

Please notify frenchfryqueen as soon as possible if you feel you cannot complete your obligation. Please don’t sign up if you don’t think you can send out a medium flat rate box in the time allotted. If problems arise, COMMUNICATION IS KEY!! Unfortunately, anyone who did not fulfill their obligations in any of my previous swaps is not eligible to play.

****Please make sure to read the general rules that apply to all swaps here at the Quilting Board: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-20154-1.htm ****

Participants should send frenchfryqueen a PM to provide tracking info and verify their box has been sent.

Participants are required to ensure packages will not arrive “postage due.”

Any and all other fees, such as import duties, taxes, etc imposed by the recipient’s government are the sole responsibility of the recipient.

Absent legitimate and reported mitigating circumstances, participants who have not fulfilled their obligation to ship by January 31st shall be deemed “late” and risk receiving Negative [Swap] Feedback.

Please keep in touch with frenchfryqueen as required. Please let her know right away if something happens that will interfere with your ability to complete your project on time.

You are participating at your own risk-- please do not publicly complain about the quality of your received box. If you have a legitimate complaint, please PM me. Communication is key!

Please PM FRENCHFRYQUEEN with the following information by January 1st. She will then match up names and get them returned to you by January 5th. You will have until January 31st to mail your box. You must provide tracking information to me with a note that your box has been sent.

Board Name:
Real Name:
Address:
Email:
Phone #: (this will NOT be given to your partner, this is for my use only in the event that a problem should arise)
Do you have any allergies:
Do you have any allergens (cats, dogs, smoker):
Can you ship internationally?
Do you have the ability to post pictures?

Any preferences (colors, themes, etc) can be discussed on the board or with your partner, but remember not everyone has the means to fulfill all requests.

Everyone jump in!!

Just so you can see what you can do with these scraps we trade. Here is one I used them in.

Our guild made a raffle quilt for the girls ministry. There was not enough fabric for the back so I got a wild hair to piece the back so we got this all done in one night. then I quilted it. Used up scraps I received from Moonrise. It turned out quite nice I thought. Nothing fancy, but still good.

frenchfryqueen 11-15-2013 10:44 AM

Glad you all are playing, and some are playing again! :)

QuilterMomma- That back is really pretty. Is that a rail fence pattern? Did the quilt raise a good amount of money? I've used some of my "trash" to make more fabric boxes for Christmas gifts.

craftymatt2 11-16-2013 09:00 AM

You can count me in, i just sent a pm

KalamaQuilts 11-16-2013 09:32 AM

I think this sounds like fun as my very first swap!

1800 reproductions are my love, 30's reproductions are always fun. I have a waist high stack of muslin feedsacks if my partner wants some of those tucked in. I like complicated patterns with lots of pieces, and don't subscribe to any quilting magazines so new or old, they would be new to me.

I love having something to look forward to!

SulaBug 11-16-2013 11:49 AM

Believe it or not, but I have already started packing my box today!! Although I will leave some room to see if I have anything that my partner might have on her want list!! How Exciting!!
:D :D :D :D

Karol 11-16-2013 12:45 PM

I want to give it a try too!

roda 11-16-2013 01:15 PM

Like to do to. Do you send scraps are yardage are both

Scrapper 11-16-2013 02:48 PM

YEEHAW I wanna play!!! Count me in......my cup runneth over and I'd love trade out some quilting stuff I've been collecting for years......especially if my partner has a wish list!!!

frenchfryqueen 11-16-2013 04:10 PM

Road, you can send scraps or yardage, and any mixture of both. Anything you want to get rid of that's over about 2.5".

Glad to see some new faces (and you repeats!)

KatsKidinWI 11-16-2013 06:16 PM

Count me in, I'm digging out a M

KatsKidinWI 11-16-2013 06:17 PM

Count me in, I'm already packing my box.

CountryCat 11-17-2013 11:40 PM

Sign me up. It's been awhile since I've done a swap & with my stash, I'm sure I can fill a box that would fit about anyone's wish list. I just sent my PM & I'm excited to see who my partner will be!

Jamimclaugh 11-18-2013 05:49 AM

I'm in! I love modern fabrics, solid color fabrics, chevron fabric and novelty/girl fabrics :) I have some country fabrics, more fabric that is old fashioned to me, not sure if it's considered 1930s but it is more traditional, and steelers fans I have some fabric for you!

homecaregiver 11-18-2013 05:55 AM

Wowzer Wowzer, I'm in again. So much fun to do. I will get my box out for filling it full to the max. Sending PM to frenchfryqueen

amyjo 11-19-2013 08:59 PM

Sounds like fun, I am sending a pm in to join. have lots of stuff.

paulswalia 11-20-2013 03:52 PM

Me! Me! count me in again - I've been setting aside scraps from quilts I've been working on in the last month or so hoping there would be another swap. I've reached a point in my quilting where I want to use up ALL of a fabric when I am done with a quilt. So a swap helps me do this. PM being sent!

TwinRiverFarm 11-24-2013 06:52 AM

I'm in again! I had sooo much fun with the scraps my partner sent me. And some of her UFO's are already in my Christmas gifts for this year!

Remember, we're not swapping till January, so you'll have plenty of time to get your box together after the holidays wind down.

justducky65 11-25-2013 10:44 AM

Oh what the heck! I'm in again. I don't know that I can fill any special requests though I can try. I have already accumulated some fabrics and patterns from a recent partial supply closet tidying up, and I still have half to go, so I am sure I can fill a box again. Sending you PM frenchfryqueen.

frenchfryqueen 11-29-2013 07:11 AM

Happy Thanksgiving, all! I managed to shave off a bit of my finger with a vegetable peeler. More iron in the mashed potatoes, I suppose! How was everyone's holiday? Anyone hit the sales today?

justducky65 12-01-2013 10:56 AM

I thought I would be all gung-ho about the Joann's BF sale, and I did go, but I was a very good girl. I picked up a couple of the rulers that are being used in the new Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt (that may get started on some time in Jan or Feb after the holidays) and some flannel for some PJ pants. I have a cart filled at fabric.com, but I have not decided if I should checkout or not. I must be in a fabric buying slump right now, as there is nothing I can't live without. That's a good thing right?

Bullock2us 12-04-2013 12:41 PM

I'm going to give this a try-sounds like lots of fun. Hope I have stuff that someone will like!

Bullock2us 12-04-2013 06:35 PM

I wouldn't even mind getting flannel-I love flannel!

frenchfryqueen 12-11-2013 07:27 AM

Just popping in to say we are still taking signups! The more, the merrier. Sign up till Jan. 1st!

Quercus Rubra 12-12-2013 09:29 AM

Wow I can't wait and I'm signup for this one again. I think it would be nice to get a pick-me-up goodie box during the chilly days of winter. And this nice thing is I'm pretty easy to please. I love everything and this will be great with my theme of next year. Anything is welcome and types are fun too. Cotton, Homespun, woolies, flannel... it all will find a home in my stash. Thanks for doing this again.

Tricia

justducky65 12-26-2013 05:19 AM

The last day to sign up is getting so close!!! I had a fun time packing my box and then receiving one in return the last time. I can't wait to get back into the sewing mode! Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and 11 days more to finish out the holiday.

frenchfryqueen 12-27-2013 05:35 AM

Justducky is right! I'm cutting off signups Tuesday at midnight. If your name isn't on this list, I don't have you signed up. Let me know! :)

I know it seems like this swap has been forever long (to me, anyway!). What a better way to beat the after-Christmas blues than with a big box of new-to-you fabric?

Hi!!!

A friend gave me some fabric to add into the mix. So, I'd like to request to be added for a second box.

I can't wait to see what I get.

Jo

I'm in again ! Last one was so much fun !

homecaregiver 12-28-2013 07:28 AM

I am going to start filling my box today as I am cleaning up the sewing room yet again.

sewmany 12-29-2013 07:27 AM

I like to sign up. But I only have solids larger than 2.5 + to fqs and scraps 1.5" wide+ which makes great string quilt . and just wondering if anyone would have any use to them. ?

frenchfryqueen 12-29-2013 03:23 PM

The large solids work perfectly! Occasionally, someone will specifically request scrappy on this thread. Anyone interested in 1.5 in scraps?
