Doll Quilt Swap #11 -- April 2010 There is no theme for this month. Sender's choice. Here are some links if you want to see some of the beauties that have been created. The February swap was our largest yet with 84 participants! http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/24532.page http://www.quiltingboard.com/posts/list/25678.page http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-27206-1.htm http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-33466-1.htm http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-34534-1.htm http://www.flickr.com/photos/3864027...7623488068430/ DOLL QUILT SWAP GUIDELINES SIZE: from 12"x12" to 24"x24" or any size or shape in between. MATERIALS: natural fibers/cotton, wool, linen EMBELLISHMENTS: if you want to use them, feel free. Beads, rickrack, buttons, doilies, ribbon, lace; anything or nothing at all. CONSTRUCTION: Pieced, appliqued, wholecloth, or yo-yos; quilted by hand or machine; and bound. LABEL: It is recommended that you attach a label to the back of your quilt. A label is a nice addition to any handmade quilt. Whether or not you decide to label your quilt, please do include a note with your quilt with your quilting board name, real name and contact information (snail mail address and/or email address, etc. so that they can thank you). And I probably don't have to say this, but when you receive something, please thank the sender. PARTNERS: You will be paired with a partner for this swap. You will make a quilt for your partner and your partner makes one for you. DUE DATE: The deadline for all quilts to be sent is April 30, 2010. COMMUNICATION: If for any reason you cannot meet the deadline or you need to drop out of this swap, please let me know as soon as you know. If you communicate any setbacks with me I can make sure things work out favorably for your partner, no hard feelings. SIGN UP: Sign up begins today and ends March 31, 2010. I'll assign partners after that date. If you would like to sign up, you can respond to this thread or PM me. Please let me know if you are willing to send internationally as we have several members outside of the US. Yes, please count me in too! So far, my collection is 1. lol But I love it and can't wait to add more. Yipeee
As usual I am in for USA only. You would think after months and months I would remember to say that in the beginning.
I would like to be in for April. These little quilts are so cute. No international please.
Margie |
I'm in. All ready stated too.
i sent you a pm to participate in this swap, what fun!
i forgot to add...international is ok... one question...in the guidelines it does say we can use mixed fabrics and embellishments...do we need to wait for our partner?(does our partner have a say? or do we surprise them with what we choose?) i would like to go ahead and start mine but what if i use some wool and then my partner says, just cotton??? personally i prefer mixed media, and surprises but i know not everyone feels the same way...i want to get this right... |
I'm going to think on this while I finish my March quilt, I am so far behind. And while I was gone to my sons I stopped getting notices from the board so have to figure that out first.
April's swap is sender's choice, so you can start your doll quilt now, ckcowl. Create away!
I was so excited to join this swap I stopped doing and made my little quilt top. Now just quilt it. ITS SO CUTE> I love little quilts.
