Elisabrat 03-25-2015 12:41 PM

darn Lynnie and I thought you would have a hard time coming up with one, two or a hundred things you love! lol you will be easy to please I am thinking!

welcome Cactus! we love having new players! I know you will have fun doing this swap. the chatter is great, the ideas endless and well the creativity that is shown when all are done are always impressive and enjoyable. I lived in Sedona for years and it is one of my favorite places on earth. if you could only do away with those desert creepy crawlies it would be heaven truly it would!

jaba 03-25-2015 12:45 PM

" this month its about what is sweet to you (puppies? kittens? lol) not your partner so you don't need to ask them about what your going to make just make sure when you send to them you include a small note saying this is what this means to me because.. (ie love cupcakes or candy or flowers or .. ) they will love it I know."

Guess I'm not understanding this, you said this but now you're saying we should make what our partner wants?? I just finished sewing mine for my sweet treat and just have to do the hand binding. Are you changing your mind?

Cheesehead 03-25-2015 02:00 PM

Jaba that was my understanding too, that we were making the sweets that we like and sharing that with our partner. Mine is ready for the binding too, that will be tomorrows project.

Jan

jaba 03-25-2015 02:42 PM

Decided that's what I'm doing, not changing it now. I asked for 2 swaps and I most always make a set of 2. I spent all day sewing 4 mugrugs. If it's different I'll drop out.

klaws 03-25-2015 02:51 PM

I'm making what I like also. I already have mine cut out and ready to sew. I know that I will like whatever someone makes me.

KathyM, welcome, too -- your name is new to me, perhaps not to the others.

I believe everybody else is a returnee -- if I'm wrong, please correct me! :)

suern3 03-25-2015 03:36 PM

I, too, will be making what is "sweet" to me, although I haven't started yet, other than planning. I look forward to seeing what is sweet to my partner. In fact, I asked my partner in a previous swap to make something that represented her. I think that is a fun way to learn about others. And I am not very picky, a gift is a gift IMHO:)

terriamn 03-25-2015 04:16 PM

I have totally finished mine also. It is sweet, sweet to me

lynnie 03-25-2015 06:33 PM

I'm done and ready to ship. it's sweet to me and prob everyone else too.

welcome Debby and Kathy, you'll find us to be a fun group. dig into your
stash or go shopping for that perfect fabric that is "sweet" to you. Just finish
nicely and tuck everything in and sew as neatly as you can. we're all looking
forward to your interpretation to 'sweet'.

regm 03-26-2015 04:47 AM

Really enjoyed the March mug rug swap, want to do it again, so count me in.

Crqltr 03-26-2015 05:00 AM

This might be tough...puppies , kittens, candy, ice cream, quilting , yikes....what to do!!

Elisabrat 03-26-2015 05:01 AM

ok I was thinking if someone did not care for sweets they could let their partner know and perhaps could have a different mug rug made. I have one person who does not do sweets, is a health instructor and wont play due to the fact that having a sweet thing staring at them is too much temptation. I am sure most of us would be very happy to get a cupcake or cookie or perhaps candy mug rug. I apologize Jaba if it was confusing just was trying to be open to all. If you have made a mug rug already make sure to let the person doing sign ups here (ctyankee) and she will make sure your pared with someone who also wants a a sweet mug rug. tada! hope that helps. She is going to give this her best try and it is her first month. I am positive she will do a great job at the sign ups.

regm did you send Ctyankee a sign up yet? make sure you do! think there are just a few more days for sign ups so please get your information in as soon as possible!

Psychomomquilter 03-26-2015 05:18 AM

ok, I made up my mind, I am in for April!

jaba 03-26-2015 05:32 AM

Mine is a sweet treat, but it's not candy, not cookies, not cake, nor pie.....:)

Cheesehead 03-26-2015 07:38 AM

Hmm, could it be ice cream?

lynnie 03-26-2015 07:57 AM

or even sherbet. love sherbet on a hot summer day, so refreshing.
or a frozen margarita???? strawberry, or a bowl of fresh fruit with whipped cream?!?

klaws 03-26-2015 08:29 AM

I have to opt out of this swap this time. I've already sent a PM to Pamela. Everyone have fun!

jaba 03-26-2015 08:52 AM

lynnie, you could make me a beautiful wine glass filled with chocolate wine :) Still have not gone to buy some, am I missing out??

lynnie 03-26-2015 10:44 AM

jaba, forgot about that. I need some chocolate wine now. I drink about 2-4 drinks a year, so I don't want to sound like an alki, but I love the taste of it. Yes. chocolate wine in a great wine glass. (whipped cream on top too)

sewbizgirl 03-26-2015 10:59 AM

If there is anyone who would be willing to be my partner and NOT send me sweets, I will play. Anything else besides food would be fine. I can certainly send sweets in return tho, if that's what my partner wants.

If not, I'll just sit this one out and join you in the next. :)

ctyankee 03-26-2015 12:22 PM

Okay, I see that sewbizgirl doesn't want to receive a "sweet" mug rug -- although all sweet things are not necessarily edible, right? If someone has a non-edible sweet (according to Elisabrat, that could be a puppy or kitten or something along those lines) mug rug, please PM me so sewbizgirl can participate this month. I'd hate to see anyone miss the fun! And sewbizgirl is okay with making a sweet mug rug she can put in the mail! So is anybody game for this unique idea? PM me please!

Cactus Stitchin 03-26-2015 01:09 PM

sewbizgirl - I would love to be your partner if you are willing to take a chance on a "Newbie". My design idea was not food related, and in fact, had just PM'd ctyankee wondering if I should rethink my idea for fear of being the odd one in the group. Just sent you a PM also.

Psychomomquilter 03-26-2015 02:02 PM

I don't mind receiving sweets, but a fat quarter would be great or something like that. Guess we do need to ask , are you diabetic, allergic/ etc. Sewbizgirl, I would love to be your partner!!:o

lynnie 03-26-2015 02:16 PM

sweet could be baby ducks and chicks
or fresh fruit, like those fruit ladies
i'm diabetic but I eat candy and chocolate.
I just do it in moderation. I'm addicted to sweets
that's why i'm diabetic now. can't stop.

dfelker 03-26-2015 02:29 PM

or WINE!!!

It also tastes great on top of a scoop of ice cream!

I've got to go buy some now, well tomorrow will be good.

lynnie 03-26-2015 04:03 PM

we have a good group so far. i'd love some chocolate wine or even a Vanilla Chai would do me good now.
A group of 22 seems like a lot to me. When do we get our name? I'm chomping at the bit to send out now.

ctyankee 03-26-2015 04:29 PM

Soon, Lynnie, soon. :)

lynnie 03-26-2015 05:25 PM

I guess we'll be getting our names over the weekend. Then I can mail on Monday. I' get anxious to get it out sometimes, because Zoey will think it's for her if it's not in an envelope. Don't want that to happen.

Did everyone receive theirs for this month? who hasn't yet?

cuppy 03-26-2015 06:03 PM

I also am working on a mug rug , one that I am sweet on.

Elisabrat 03-27-2015 07:18 AM

hold your horses ladies lol its closing the 1st so a few more days yet for sign ups. Linny often we have 40 or so swappers so it seems very light this month. Wondering if the sweets has turned a few off and they had a better idea? like I said it doesn't have to be candy you think is sweet.. I say something is sweet all the time even if its not food lol flowers for me? SWEET! baby animals? SWEET! a glass of good wine? SWEET! see how simple sweet can be interpret in so many different ways? I love brown and pinks together remind me of candy but not candy if that makes sense.

I give the 1st as the new sign ups to allow those who had swapped last month to get theirs in if they are slower to mail. for many reasons people mail late so be forgiving. You never know when its your time to be late too. We had a member yesterday who had a severe tragedy in her family. I need a mug rug to be sent to her partner who is very understanding. angels anyone??? please let me know asap. thanks!

Quilty-Louise 03-27-2015 08:33 AM

Cactus Stitchin 03-27-2015 12:33 PM

Sorry gang, with permission of course, I've already snatched up sewbizgirl and we have already plotted, planned, and are off to the races! Such fun! I'm really excited to get started and join the fun. Funny thing, we found out we share a first name.

lynnie 03-27-2015 06:31 PM

any hint on what you're planning???

Elisabrat 03-28-2015 04:54 AM

Cactus girl you should really have posted to ctyankee our sign up queen and let her know that information. I think its wonderful if you find someone on your own but if you sent in a sign in sheet then you go on the main list and are pared up (if its avail) with someone who fits your special need but it truly something that we all wait for first. After sign ups are done and the list is posted you can always come on and say hey I would love a partner who can do xyz with me! please everyone wait for the sign up sheet to show up on the board before paring up in the future! thanks!

ok onto fun things: I have one person in England who would love a partner! she is a great quilter and a great partner so let Ctyankee know now if you would like to swap with her.

On sad news one of our players here Ladybug has lost her husband in an accident the other day. It was a car accident and totally unexpected. I am asking those who are interested to write me and I will share her address with her so we can send her cards. Its such a sad time for her and I know support from us will be much appreciated. Thanks.

Please send your sign in to CTYANKEE today for this months swap. We need an even number of swappers for everyone to play so please sign up today. How sweet it is! do you love cake? cookies? fancy drinks? puppies? horses? whatever it is you can sign up and make a mug today for your partner. You can chose to do your own mug rug of your favorite thing or you can do one that your partner might love. its up to you :) so sign up today and join in on the fun! if you have posted I am in but haven't sent a sign up please do so now to CTYANKEE so she has you marked as playing! I don't want anyone left off!
