August Fabric Postcard - Dare to Be Square
 

Summer is busy; everyone is out and about so I am posting next month's swap early:

August Theme will be: Dare to Be Square. Make a postcard depicting something square. You will be making One fabric postcard.

My swaps are open to all levels of sewing. For a tutorial on how to make fabric postcards, please refer to my post in tutorials How to Make a Fabric Postcard. Please post pictures of the postcards you receive.

*Cards must measure approx 4 x 6
*Must predominantly be sewed and quilted. Embroidery by hand or machine is also welcome.
*Must have some type of finished edge.

Note: We will only be sending a postcard due to the cost of postage.

Square, square, square! I don't know why I couldn't wrap my mind around it. Then, I was working on some blocks for a different quilt and it just hit me. I am about half finished with my cards for August. I love pulling from the scrap bins to make these! So much fun to revisit teeny pieces of favorite fabrics. I always try to make two. One for my partner and one for my mom. She just loves getting these in the mail. And, I like making her happy.

I can’t wait to work on my card! I was hoping to start this weekend but am keeping the grands all weekend. At first I wasn’t sure about the theme but then the ideas started coming and I’m excited to have several to choose from. I think I might be able to steal a few minutes here and there to gather supplies though.

Judith, wouldn't it be fun for your mom to receive a few extras this month. Private me with her address and I will send her one as soon as I figure out what to make, lol

It's still regular postcard but with a square theme? Having a hard time thinking.

Why are sign ups already closed when it's not the 29th yet? I still haven't wrapped my head around a idea yet but was sure was trying. But now I can stop thinking.

I want to play again if sign ups are still open?

ok ok, owlvamp will swap with sewred. i close them early sometimes because there is no action for a week. look for sign ups on the 15th of the month.

Nice card R-sea! I love the abstract look and the batik prints. Have been working on my card for Judith1005 this week, it’s not quite ready yet but I like the way it’s turning out so far.

Nicely done J50. I love the fabric. And, it's a unique square done DP4 block.

What a colorful card J50! I had to look up how to do that block (because I don’t know very many blocks by name)and while it seems like it should be simple, I think the small pieces and the square motif fabric would have made that challenging for me. Nice card!
