Signup begins; now 7-22- 2020

Signup closes 8 - 5 - 2020 at midnight

Partners will be assigned no later than: 8- 6- 2020

Mail by dates: International 8-10-2020/ all others 8-20- 2020 these dates are firm.

What is a mug rug? A mug rug is an item you use to place a cup of coffee, tea or soda on, along with a small snack plate/napkin beside it. It’s approximately 9”x8” or larger so both items will fit. Please do not make it smaller than 9”x8” as that is quite small for both items as it is!

1. You will be assigned a partner. This is not a secret pal swap. Each partner will contact the other partner for addresses. Will you make something abstract, realistic or whimsical? Will you appliqué or paper-piece or just go with regular piecing?


2. It must be made with 100% quilter’s cotton, with a nice cotton batting in between to protect furniture from possible damage due to heat/cold. Use a binding method you are comfortable with, or practice & learn a new binding technique! Also, the mug rug must be quilted. Remember, this is a gift you are making for someone. Be proud of your work & do your best. And be kind about what you receive. If you have any issues, please work it out with your partner first, before contacting me; communication is key. This board is for all of us to make friends & have fun.

3. You must send your name, address and phone number for emergency’s only to me, Boop56 by March 3rd.Don’t forget to send me notice (with tracking number) that you have sent to your partner. Any delays must be shared with me prior to this date. I want everyone to receive a partner’s trade. We should not have to request angels. Again, communication is important. You can be forgiven if something comes up & you notify your partner & me prior to the end of your swap mail date requirement. But if you don’t communicate & don’t send out a mug rug to your partner, you will be locked out of swapping with this group and negative feedback will insure other swap groups know you didn't send.

4. You are free to include little gifts with your mug rug, handmade or store-bought; it’s up to you. But you are only obligated to send a mug rug. Nothing else is required in this swap.

5. Any questions? Contact me immediately and I will help get you started.

6. Please take a photo before you ship your package to your partner, just in case she cannot post a photo. We all want to see photos! But don’t post it until you know your partner has received your package & that she is unable to post a photo.

7.Also, please let me know if you can mail internationally! This is important, as we have quite a few international swappers who want to join us, & I don’t want anybody to be left out. So if you can ship internationally — even just one time — that would make it more fun for our overseas & Canadian swappers!

March 2021 - How about a Green stained glass piece of art? Any color of greens with black.
April 2021 - Umbrellas to catch those April Showers.
May 2021 - Time to spill the tea..hmmmm. Let's make coffee mug or tea cup related.
June 2021 - How about hats? Need hats to keep the sun off our faces. Time to get shady.

Mailed my mug rug off this morning! I really enjoyed this theme!

Please ladies, to carrie on, one of you have to take over. I ended up having seziures and taken to hospital. They have found masses in my lung and in my brain. Sorry

Boop - I have been thinking about you several times today and don't want you to stress about dropping this swap. Personally, I have been wanting to have a little more time to sew for myself. I always seem to be rushing to complete a swap and don't work on my own projects. You just take care of yourself. There are plenty of other options to swap here that we can join. it has been a tough week with the death of my father in law and then the next ay my mother in law fell and broke her hip.

Oh no... so sorry about your MIL too, Mmonohon. You all have had a rough time of it, lately. Prayers for your family.

They were able to get the whole mass out. Now they freeze it, then slice it to get as many samples as possible. Then they start testing. They have not ruled out cancer, but for now are treating it as a disease.. I hurt so bad from the drainage tube. Then catheter, iv's in each hand. After I came out of anesthesia, they had me sitting up in bed. Arm pressure band on arm and both legs. Now that felt good. Every few minutes they would rotate the pressure. Of course when I came out surgery, they were asking ME about what I wanted to be called, Peg or Peggy. Roger says Grammie. So that is what they are calling me. So, they turned me on my side for the night. Now this morning, they already have me up in the chair. They are taking me off oxygen today to see how I breath on my own and watch my draining discharge to figure out when they take out the drainage. And with that said, I am going to try to nap in ths chair. Peggy..

Oh Lum! What a beautiful mug rug! Your skills are better than mine so I hope you don't mind having me as your partner! Those little squares I used gave me a bit of trouble but I enjoyed learning. I was thrilled when I saw the beautiful watermelon and then lo and behold - flip - puppies too and I think the light fabric is dachshunds. Thank you so much.

Nonnie, glad you like it. I have had the watermelon side in mind for several months. When you told me about your dogs I knew I needed to do that too. I have been gone camping for a few days but I expect that the one from you will be waiting for me when I get home.
