August Postcard Swap - Wacky Holidays
Sign-ups begin for the August Wacky Holiday Swap. You will be making ONE Fabric Postcard. So choose a holiday from list below and design a postcard around it. NOTE: You have a month to send the card! Don't worry about actual date.
My swaps are open to all levels of sewing. For a tutorial on how to make fabric postcards, please refer to my post in tutorials How to Make a Fabric Postcard. Please post pictures of the postcards you receive. *Cards must measure approx 4 x 6 *Must predominantly be sewed and quilted. Embroidery by hand or machine is also welcome. *Must have some type of finished edge. Ooopsie! MizMelly better get on the stick!! I'm doing a major shift and reorganization of my sewing studio this weekend, so hopefully next week I'll be getting my postcard made and in the mail to J50! August is off to a distracting bang!

i just remembered to check in! almost time to post next month's holidays. i been busy. i lost a job of 16 years and had to find something quick to supplement. i worked for a doctor who lost his license to practice and he had to close the office rather abruptly. i found a job to pay the bills but i am still looking...for a better job, unless i win the mega millions Friday!

Sorry to hear about the job, Cookie. Here's hoping you are able to win the Mega Millions so you can retire and quilt!! I plan on buying tickets for that and the Powerball also!

Here's a great card from my partner nhnative for Lighthouse Day...it took me a couple days to post it, this month is so jumbled and busy. I had just finished reading an article about several lighthouses for sale in MI (my home state) when I got it. Another tremendous coincidence in a mystery we call LIFE!
Don't worry Pat, my card is in progress and will go out -- hmm --- next week I guess. I had an odd idea so I must follow it to its conclusion (or demise!). |

That's my one-eyed Jack. Yes, he only has one eye. He was an outdoor kitten born to a feral mother, and he got that eye herpe that is so prevalent among the outdoor colonies. Anyway, his right eye ulcerated and I rescued him and had it removed. Now he's a fat happy boy that is an indoor only kitty who loves his mommy.
Sometimes I wish he didn't love me so much when he hogs the bed in the middle of the night..... |
