Very interesting........I have loads of oriental fabric........so you are thinking of using oriental florals and oriental blenders?????????????

Just as long as the center block (three blocks acutally) are black, you can use prints, florals, whatever just as long as it 'speaks' of oriental flair. It doesn't have to stay black with two other colors, it can be 3 or 4, just as long as the center is predominantly black.

First and formost, Happy New Year to ALL !!!!!
Second, thanks to Deb for hosting another block swap !!!!! She is great, always there to answer questions and make everyone feel good about completing the challenge she gives us. Ok, are we ready to SEW? I thought for sure there would be pictures posted of completed blocks.....guess they are waiting for me to post first....hehehe. Although we do have nearly 12 weeks before they must be to Deb, I thought for sure Kristen or Karen or Candace would have her block posted or at the very least they would have posted a pic of the fabrics they was going to use. I am playing with two different sets of colors, I made the mistake of choosing a directional pattern and forgot to gake that into account when I was cutting and sewing. Consequently, I had to "unsew" quite a bit and recut DUH!! You would think I would know better. Hope this is not a trend for the new year. Give me a few minutes and I will post pics of the completed block with the directional fabric and then I will post pics of the other fabric I am thinking of using. Lets get this "Show and Tell" on the road, what do you say? |
