I so want to do this, but know I would be cutting any deadline close with getting ready to move and then unpacking. Definitely want to be in the next one!!!

Beautiful block SulaBug and Klue.

Sulabug,
:D :D :D

Well, you've really made great progress with your new embroidery machine. Love it, Sulabug!

Can't believe my Viking embroidery unit quit working. Guess, I better invest in a new machine, so I can catch up with you.

Here's the fabric I picked. I think I will make this block

My yellow will read as the light and my blue will read as the dark.
Sound okay??

Thanks! The blue is from the "quilting for a cure" line and the yellow took me forever to find today. Seems true yellow is hard to come by...

The blue came in a lighter value too. I almost got some but them I remembered my dh's warning....why on earth do you need more fabric? I bought you all of that silk in China and you still haven't used it?? It' hurt my feelings...Don't you like it??

Silly man...I have plans for the silk but not until I lose another 10 LBS!!

Ok, it's in the washer. Hope to cut it out tonight while I watch True Blood.

quiltwoman 06-28-2009 03:44 PM

I just realized the blue fabric is inside out in the photo--how embarrassing. It's really much darker blue

Ducky 06-28-2009 04:40 PM

Okay, Sulabug, are you trying to show us up or something? Your sample was so pretty with the embroidery. Show off.

Ducky 06-28-2009 04:43 PM

Klue, your blocks are sooooo pretty! I love the cornflower color, so that is my favorite block (wink, wink, nudge, nudge to Colletta    ) I have to wait until Wednesday to do my fabric shopping because that is payday. I have blues, but don't have yellows that I like....Darn, I'll have to go to my favorite LQS and shop....

kluedesigns 06-28-2009 04:49 PM

ducky

your life is so hard - you have to go shopping for fabric - how will you ever make it thru the day.

thanks for the compliments i hope you get the block you like.

zennia 06-28-2009 05:45 PM

I think I am going to back out of this swap. The more I look for fabric the more confused I get. To many shades/styles etc. I will sit this out and watch. The blocks posted so far are very nice.

Ducky,
I am not trying to show up anyone, by embroidering the center of my block. I thought it needed just a touch of something else, so I just had to do it!! :D My embroidery machine is very addicting!! :D Thank you so much for the compliments.
Sulabug,
:D :D :D

Oh, please don't back out! It doesn't matter the shades, styles or anything else. Having you along for the ride is what makes it fun!

Ducky 06-29-2009 07:23 AM

Zennia, we'd really hate to see you drop out of this. The beauty of the swap is that everyone has different fabrics, different shades and brightness. It just makes for a fun experience! Oh, please do reconsider!

Barbm 06-29-2009 08:00 AM

I'm looking forward to all shades of blue and yellow- makes it awesome!!!! come play with us zennia!

pittsburgpam 06-29-2009 12:36 PM

I'm in. I actually just got about a dozen 1/2 yd cuts of a blue/yellow/green collection. I can make a nice sampler with that and the blue/yellow blocks.

I want a simple block too so I better pick one before they are gone!!!

karen1322 06-30-2009 06:54 AM

I am in too! I am thinking of the star of virginia block, not sure though. Will know more after this weekend and company leaves.

Ducky,
Your fabric is gorgeous!! :D I can't wait to see your block made up.
Of course, I will want one of these too!!
:D :D :D

Ducky 06-30-2009 04:05 PM

Thank you, Sulabug. I'm still staring at the printed fabric. Not sure if I like it for this. Think it would be better with a smaller print?

Ducky,
I would imagine that it would depend on the pattern you are going to use with it. I personally love it & hope you get to use it in your block!!
:D :D :D :D
PS: You are my 1700th message

collettakay 06-30-2009 04:53 PM

OH, beautiful print! I love it!

Ducky 06-30-2009 04:57 PM

Okay, Sulabug and Colletta, thank you. I probably won't change the printed fabric. I loved it at the LQS, but had doubts while taking pictures of it here at home.

kluedesigns 06-30-2009 05:38 PM

ducky

its great! the flowers in your print go so well with the flowers in my print. its like we bought everything at the same time.

i love it!

Ducky 06-30-2009 06:11 PM

:D Okay, I see that!!!! :D We do kind of coordinate, don't we? I feel better about my choice.

Thanks, Klue, you're always such a help.

Ducky, I love your print fabric!

Ducky 06-30-2009 07:08 PM

Thanks, Angie. I think I'll try one to see if I like it enough to do all 12.

tslowery 06-30-2009 10:16 PM

YIPPEE . I so want to join but I am on vacation this month so I will hold out till I get home and see if I have enough time. I love blue and yellow so I hope I get home in time to participate, ( I thought about bringing my sewing machine and did not at the last minute. DANG DANG DANG) I should know by now to never leave home without it.lol

tlrnhi 06-30-2009 10:33 PM

Oh Ducky! I'm in love with that flower fabric!
Where did you get it?? Maker?

sandpat 07-01-2009 05:00 AM

Hmmm....I"ll have to think about this one but my gut tells me to stop overloading myself...right now!!! Yesterday a girl told me she wants to buy 2 quilts from me...so I need to make them. That will allow me to buy more fabric. And I need to buy some to go with the B and White blocks that I'll be getting in soon!!! Yea!!!

Ducky I love the fabric you are using for this swap!

JRSAY 07-02-2009 10:37 AM

Hi,
What fun, all of your 12 blocks are the same pattern?
Can you mix up the colors as long as still blues & yellows?
I am also new to this site, but just luv to stitch.

when your blocks are ready for mailing just PM colletta and she'll give you her address to send them to and you should add a return package with postage so she can send the assorted blocks back to you

Kyiav10 07-04-2009 07:03 AM

Ok, I am back from vacation. I picked up my fabric before I left. I will work on the blocks throughout this week and next weekend. I am very excited about this swap.

Here is a pic of my fabric for this swap. I am getting very excited. I posted on my diary page my experiences this morning with trying to work on a practice block. No luck. But once I have one done I will post it.

Hope you all like my fabric choices. I do.

Kyia :D

kluedesigns 07-05-2009 08:08 AM

Hello, I'm new to this chat today. However, I have been receiving this web page for a little bit now and have decided to join you nice group of folks. I feel like I am part of you albeit a silent partner, and when I saw the Blue and Yellow Swap, I knew it was time to join. Hope I can still join the swap as I am really looking forward to it.
Thanks in advance. wvdek :-)
