And the final one for this swap....Its for Moonrise. Your fabric was the easiest to match colors too...so many choices you could pick. Started on my Boom 16 orange quilt..trying to figure out placement..sashing has always been my least part of making a quilt!

yes, I love her patterns. I have one of her more recent books, and I let all of my family(sisters, brother, sons, nephews, niece, and wives pick their patterns and color combos. Boy am I having fun, but scraps aren't going down.

This is the Bonnie Hunter quilt I am working on. Carolina Crossroads from Scraps and Shirttails. I have all the blocks made, but I'm still assembling. Figured out the center of this quilt (without the two pieced borders) has over 2600 pieces!

All from recycled shirts...

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sewbiz that is beautiful, and recycled also. What a treasure. It just sparkles with all the colors you've put in it. Did you plan the color layout? I'm always curious about that. There is one lady in our guild, she plans where every piece goes, but, her quilts are to drool over.

sewbizgirl 09-17-2016 09:28 PM

Thank you kk! It's all scrappy reds, blues or neutrals. She tells you the placement but you use your own judgement on what to put where, within the color parameters. I'm loving that it's scrappy red, white and blue!

yes, it is fantastic, very patriotic looking. I was thinking about doing her next mystery. Someone said she usually starts one in January.

Went back and looked at your quilt again, I can't believed you made that from reclaimed shirts.. It is truly fantastic. Do you go to the goodwill and places like that?
