Sewbizgirl! Your blocks are awesome. I love the fabrics choices in them all, but the one for Quilter Momma is just perfect. And the Glacier Bay block for Terriamn jumps off the page. Gorgeous!

Bluelady 01-27-2018 09:07 AM

[QUOTE=QuilterMomma;
Ok, here is the sweet culprit who ate my quilt. She actually has eaten three of them and the dog blanket that is in the kennel. Aren't they so innocent when they are sleeping.
Awwww.. I am sure that sweet pup won't do such a thing! LOL..

This pup is entirely too cute. I wanted to be mad at her for eating quilts, but how can you? Does she have enough chew toys? We use those rawhide roll ups as a daily treat for our big boy. Don't buy anything from China... They don't care if they poison their own people, let alone dogs.

That is amazing! Totally perfect block for the fabric. Is that stitching to add the page edges?

Bluelady 01-27-2018 09:11 AM

Hav4boys.. Love my block!! perfect pop of purple. :)

Thank you... yes the stitching is supposed to look like the pages. :)

Bluelady 01-27-2018 09:16 AM

HAV4boys, love my block.. the more I see the blocks with my fabric the more I love purple with it! Thanks!!

Great blocks, Terri! Janice's block looks exotic. I'm working on my last block now and then will move on to Quail's. Just taking a break and looking at the QB....

Not as productive as I thought I was going to be today but I did manage to make another block. This block is for Nana Kathy.

terriamn 01-27-2018 01:42 PM

Very pretty Cheesehead

Cheesehead 01-27-2018 01:58 PM

Thanks Teri. It's so dark and rainy here today that the picture turned out a little too dark. I thought I was going to accomplish so much sewing today because of the rain but it had the opposite effect on me. Not too much ambition!

These blocks seemed to have come together so fast I can hardly believe it. I'm done with this group, so here's the last of them.
Janice McC- this pattern I just started sewing and this is what it ended upLibster - boys nonsense LJDugas- crystal star MonaG - double starNanaKathy55- 5 diamonds QuilterMomma- grandma's favoriteTerriamn- Indiansewbizgirl- king's crown bluelady- Salt Lake City and cheesehead- Rocky Road to CA

Really beautiful blocks, ladies!

A week ago I thought it would be nearly impossible to make so many different ones in 2 months!

terriamn 01-27-2018 04:37 PM

More lovely blocks Jaba, thanks for my great block

Funny I wonder why most of us have been able to make ours so fast this time. The only fabric I am having difficulty matching is the green in Sewbiz’s fabric.

Because we're veterans! ;) It gets easier...

For that green, just use anything you have that looks good with the fabric. Or go with the blues...

Jaba, that was a load of work! Thank you for my block.... So much fun to see all your blocks.

Well, I'm sticking a fork in you, Hummingbird. You are done. :D Here are my last three and now I'll be working on my Quail blocks... but still cheering all the Hummingbirds on.

This is a Beacon Star, for Cheesehead:

A Delaware Crosspatch for Hav4Boys:

And my favorite... Checkered Star for Bluelady:

Bluelady, the background green in my photo looks very washed out, but it is actually a very good match for your swatch. :)

ljdugas31 01-27-2018 06:02 PM

Jaba love my block! Stars are my favorite Thank you

terriamn 01-27-2018 07:20 PM

Sewbiz love your last three blocks, fun colors, fun fabrics and great center fabric for H4b’s

Bluelady 01-27-2018 10:38 PM

Looking great here ladies! I need to get moving on mine! Oh, if you have any fabric left over, I would like to get it back. I didn't have much of it, so it will help to get it back.

I appreciate it!

Here’s mine for Joanelizbay. Sorry, it’s rainy outside so the lighting isn’t great. Hope this will work with your other blocks. :)

terriamn 01-28-2018 06:33 AM

Your block turned out great Janice

joanelizbay 01-28-2018 06:39 AM

Love it Janice!

Janice McC 01-28-2018 07:23 AM

Jaba, your instinct served you well. Thank you!

Great block for Joan, Janice. Nice fussy cutting of the bold words!

Cheesehead 01-28-2018 08:39 AM

Thank you to Jaba and SBG, love the blocks you have made for me. This is the first time I have ever seen the Beacon Star Block, it's gorgeous!

Glad you like it, Cheese. I got it from Jinny Beyer's site.

Cheesehead 01-28-2018 09:37 AM

SBG, thank you for sending me to that site she has lots of pretty block designs. I saw a few patterns that I think I would like to try. :)

Yeah, it's a great source. Be sure to check the scale when printing from that site. You may have to go more than 100% to match the little scale on the patterns. They say it works best with Explorer.

Here are my blocks for today. For Hav4boysget your sunglasses on!
For Bootsy

For Bibliostone

Bootsy I did a miss-cut on your fabric but was still able to make a block. I personally am not happy with how it looks and would be more than happy to make another block if you still have more fabric. I will also pay the postage both ways, just pm me and let me know.

Libster 01-28-2018 12:09 PM

"Bootsy I did a miss-cut on your fabric but was still able to make a block."

Ha! Now we know you are a true Boomer. We've all done the same thing and had to figure a way to still pull it off. Way to go! BTW.. I like that block.

sewbizgirl 01-28-2018 12:29 PM

Cheesehead, I thought your block for Bootsy looked great! I was wondering if it was some sort of Celtic cross.... I like it too.

Your other blocks are pretty, as well. :o

Cheesehead 01-28-2018 12:41 PM

"Bootsy I did a miss-cut on your fabric.

Ha! Now we know you are a true Boomer.

Ahhh Libster, that's the best compliment of all!

I like the block cheese...if you wouldnt have mentioned it noone would have known!! Finished 2 today after I got home from quilters. I think I have the nicest quilter possible!! One of the 4 grandkids has confirmed flu...sure hope the other 3 dont get it. The Dr said rest, liquid and isolation were what she needed to do. 2nd day and still has a 101 fever. :(

I have a question for you experts. Im going to try a curved log cabin. The pattern calls for 1 -2 1/2 strip print ...then it says 1- 1 1/2 strip roll solid. My question is would it be easier to get a 2 1/2 solid pack and cut it down to the 1 1/2 size or just cut solids from my stash that are 1 1/2". I dont think Ive ever seen a 1 1/2 strip for sale?? The pattern is from Missouri Star Quilt.. Thanks.
These blocks are for cheesehead and Biblostone

I only got one block done this weekend, but I have prepped for several more. the practice block did not turn out how I hoped so I had to find a different pattern.

This block is for Terriamn.

Cheesehead 01-28-2018 03:27 PM

Thank you for the lovely block Joanelizbay.

The flu is just terrible down here in Alabama too. It seems everyday the newscasters are announcing a death regarding the flu. The last two people were so young, one was a 10 year old child and another a 46 year old woman. It seems by the time they came down with it they died within 4 days. Hoping your grandchild recovers real soon and doesn't give it to the rest of the family.

terriamn 01-28-2018 03:27 PM

Thanks Mona, the block is great looks 3 deminsional.

Joan sorry I don’t know which would be easier. I prefer to make blocks a little larger and cut them down, but when working with curves your blocks can get distorted when you cut them down

Hope your granddaughter recovers from the flu quickly. It is running rampant here.
