They have that here too. Many people are selling their houses here for an astronomical (to me) amount of money. They like the idea of selling their house to someone with like values because so what if it goes for $10,000 less when you’ve made a million dollars on the house. I’m not sure what I think of this. On one hand we have a lot of foreign investors or others turning the houses into Airbnb’s but couldn’t the letters be used to discriminate too?

on another note Sewbiz I know you’ll appreciate this, my tennis partner Inge and I won the San Diego District tennis 3.5 championship against two 25 yeah olds. I had my Fitbit on and my heart rate exceeded my ‘maximum’ heart rate a number of times. Grueling 3 hour match. They usually give you a beer mug for winning but this time we each got $60. I’m thinking some more fabric.

this might be our last hurrah as I expect next year we’ll be at the bottom of the barrel of the level we get moved up to.

Congratulations, MJP, on your tennis win!

We accepted a nice offer so we are under contract. It looks like it should go well since they just sold their house and need another right away. We expect to close early next month. That's ok for us. "Love letters" were a thing about 5 years back when I was selling my sister and Mom's place. I fell for it, a "sincere" letter. Yup, it fell out of escrow but it wasted two weeks of showing times. Next time around, I looked only at the figures and was tougher.

Have a lovely day!

Yes, congrats, MJP! The tennis win was great. It's hard not to get competitive and exceed your max heart rate, LOL! Very proud of you and Inge.

Thank you for all the beautiful blocks, really awesome! I enjoyed my first boom! Also thank you to Janice for all her coordination, much appreciated! I'm looking forward to putting these blocks together :)

Congrats to you and Inge, MJP!!! That is spectacular.

stcpawz, I am so glad you joined us this round! Putting the blocks together is a different kind of challenge. I can't wait to get mine put together. I promise to post pics along the way! I hope you post the finished product, too.

I am very happy to hear that everyone is getting their houses bought and houses sold. I hope I never have to move again but a house in the country where there are turkeys and deer and squirrels constantly around sounds lovely. I have squirrels and birds and too many people around me, lol.

Hello to all you busy moving and grovin Zinnias! I have been on the road but every now and then drop in and my mouth drops open at all your wonderful creative talents ....while you are so very busy!
I really so miss you gals! But I should be able to play when #27 rolls around - after everyone gets settled into their new abodes and all the closings go through easily.
See you all then - and have a beautiful crisp colorful Autumn

So good to hear from you again, TG. I'm glad you plan to be with us on 27! Enjoy your scouting for fabric!

Congratulations MJP quite an accomplishment

On a sadder note one of our best friends passed away from Covid this morning and his wife also has it but getting stronger everyday. Unfortunately she is in quarantine and we can’t be with her physically. This is our same friend who lost her sister to cancer 2 weeks ago. They believe they came in contact with the virus at Sue’s funeral. We were t the same funeral but thankfully no breakthrough Covid for us

Terriamn, sorry about the loss of your friend. This dang virus - hopefully vaccination rates will continue to rise and we can beat it. So tough, so much loss. I don't know if I ever shared I lost my former father-in-law last fall to Covid.

MJP, you are a rockstar!

Janice - yep, I'm a numbers gal too! Tug at my heartstrings all you want, but have the $$ to back it up! He he he....

We are off camping again this weekend, got to take advantage of this hot weather before winter comes.

Janice McC 09-10-2021 09:26 AM

Terriamn, you have my condolences on the loss of your good friend. I’ll keep his wife in my thoughts for a full recovery.
