All2 pieces and HAV great blocks for your finish.
Ibex looks like lots of decisions in your future. We played around with the idea of moving for about 5 years, he was ready I wasn’t. After being in my house for 44 years I was pretty settled in and established. Then the Minneapolis riots and Floyd was killed, a man who didn’t deserve to be killed by a policeman. But certainly shouldn’t have been touted as a good man That was the defining moment for me, we left the city and headed to the lake and my grandkids were sent to their Aunt’s in Wisconsin. Hope you can make your decision and welcome your future with open arms Saw this happy pumpkin and couldn’t resist it. What is the attraction with me and pumpkins all of a sudden?

Now that my blocks are on their way to Janice, I thought I would share the last of my creations. The first is my single color themed block for Janice and I picked blue. I used a patchworksquare.com pattern called Key Lime Pie. I played with a few different colors and decided my scrappy blue option played best together. Along the way I misdesigned one of the corners with two dark squares next to one another. It jumped out at me in the picture I took so out came the seam ripper so I could fix it. It looks much better now!
As I was running out of time I decided that my Big Bang quilt block could not be the paper pieced block I wanted to do (I am still going to try to make it and if it works, I'll send it when done) and settled for a Churn Dash block that I am calling a Pioneer Butter Churn block in honor of Amy and her pioneer love. The atom fabric is for Sheldon. Sewbizgirl gets a churn dash block, too. I am posting two pictures for you. The final version being sent has an appliqued block in the center to minimize the black fabric in the middle. However, you may prefer the wide open space to do some fancy quilting with. The version without the applique is here to help you decide which you prefer without having to remove the flower.

Annaquilts I made you a variation of the Gingham block for your second block. (Regretfully, I did not embroider any eyes on your scarecrow. I ran out of time!!)
All2Pieces I found that the Variable Star pattern (quilter's cache.com) was great for your beautiful hummingbird fabric. Have4boys your beautiful fabric yielded a very pink Turkey Giblets and one of Carol Doak's stars called "Expanding Star" from her Victorian Fantasy Sampler book.

Terriamn I did a Twisting Burr for you with one of your beautiful fabrics. And the second is a Churn Dash, beautifully showcasing that great fabric.
Cheesehead, the block I was trying to make for you didn't work out. Ultimately, I had to disassemble it and create something so I could get all the blocks mailed and you get a block I've named something along the lines of Time waits for no one with hour glasses that will play nicely with the spools you already have from all 2 pieces. The block I really wanted to make for you was taken apart about a thousand times trying to come up with points that allowed for a 1/4" seam. I still don't know what was wrong with what I was doing. Lstew2212 I cannot remember the name of this block variation but I love the way it plays with your fabric. I saw a pattern in my 1000 blocks book and changed it up just a touch to give me a block that kept the focus on your fabric.

I did! It turned out great. I’m not home right now or I’d snap one with the binding on, as it is completely done. I pulled the colors from the blocks to make corner stars :-) I love this one! Hugs!

As most of you know my oldest daughter is a runner and on Friday she noticed a truck and on Saturday it was still in the same spot. Something triggered in Kelly’s mind and she approached the truck. A young man had violently killed himself. She is handling it pretty well or she is still in shock. Can’t even imagine such a scenario.
Reba love your space quilt and the extra stars you added. Janice sure hope it’s just a mix up on the chip Today is the big day at the Park. The all day party to raise money for the local food shelf. There will be bands playing outside from noon to 5:30 then inside the hall from 6 to 9. Unfortunately it’s going to be sizzling hot hope that doesn’t keep the crowds away. We are volunteering in the kitchen from 5 to 7. Sure hope it is a successful event

NZQ, your daughter is adorable!
Ibex, thank you for the belly laugh! Me, buff! (Cue hysterical laughter) Terriamn, I’m sorry your daughter saw that. A horrible thing we hope never to see. Ernie’s chip IS registered to the previous owner but her contact info is incorrect. The Humane Society took him on as a stray and tried to contact her. The person who they reached said they did not have a dog. It’s believed his previous owner may be deceased. In any case, he was legally adopted by us and the chip company is apparently going to switch his chip registration to us shortly. Hav, your package arrived. Thank you. Hello again. Here are my blocks in no particular order. I’m thinking of making a few more blocks and sewing two 12 block quilts with larger sashings. We’ll see. Thank you everyone for the wonderful blocks!

Quilt blocks look great, Janice. The colors just shine!
How exciting that we may have our blocks before Thanksgiving! Thank you for getting them out so quickly. |

Mjp, you’re not going to have to wait long! Blocks are going out tomorrow! Everything went very smoothly this round. Everything is set for an early delivery.
Ibex, Check your email! I want to confirm best address for you. |
Terriamn, what a terrible thing to have your daughter discover. The victim must have been in horrible pain to have chosen that way to end their life. I am sure your daughter is trying to process it all without losing her mind. Prayers to her.

Sewbizgirl, December may be our month for lunch or coffee!
It's great hearing the smiles from everyone on the blocks we made for one another. I hope we all have time to make our quilts in a hurry! |
Wow, you did the swapping out and into the mail crazy fast, Janice! You must have your system down to a fine art!
I was looking through the gallery again with my 8 and 7 year old daughters and they absolutely loved all your blocks. They also got a giggle out of some of our board names! Katrina (age 8) was tickled pink with the board name "Cheesehead"! Cheesehead I thought you would find that funny! 😁 Anyone joining in the Bonnie Hunter quiltville mystery this year? I haven't done one in years, but I'm going to give it a shot this time. Even if I only do a baby quilt size... I know I always need baby/toddler quilts. Annaquilts, I didn't know you have 14 children! Wow! You are amazing!!! |
Good morning. I’m happy to have gotten the blocks out the door so quickly. I hope most of the packages will arrive on or before Wednesday. You’ll have something fun to do other than cleanup post Thanksgiving.
I’ve definitely decided to go with two smaller quilts for my blocks. Now to decide on colors. Enjoy your day. |
Wosier beautiful morning here, went for my walk and enjoying my cup of coffee. Have doubled my walking distance. If there isn’t snow and ice in Minnesota when we go home for the month of December and I can continue to walk, I should be be up to walking the perimeter of the park when we get back.
Some of the cacti are getting ready to bloom, really bummed we will miss that. One yard has what looks like 2 giant Christmas cactus and there are hundreds of buds on each one. It will be spectacular when they open up. Bought a seat cushion for the ride back to Minnesota, hoping that will help eliminate some of the stiffness from sitting so long. As soon as we arrive home the tree will go up and the Christmas cookie baking begins. Soon the fun will begin |
WMUteach -- the name of your block is Carol's Star and I found the pattern on Quilt Blocks Galore. I kept searching for it in my 1000 Blocks book but it wasn't there! I am very glad I finally found the name.
Terriamn, the seat cushion will help you a bunch! Just try to get out and walk around everytime you stop. Have a wonderful trip! I'm in the process of killing my Christmas Cactus. I either overwatered it or missed watering it at critical times. It doesn't help that I am not where they are frequently enough to check on their watering. Do you have them planted outside? 100s of buds! That sounds like a healthy plant. How can I get that green of a thumb? Janice, thank you so much for a wonderful BOOM. The gallery is a job in itself and you need a raise! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, everyone. |
Teri, my car seat cushion is called Tush Cush and it really works. It has not flattened out or lost its shape after several years of use.
What kind of cookies will you be baking? |
